Dude is 6/9 and 220 lbs. Sounds like a 3 playing a 4. Everyone on our floor cant be a superstar. Maybe if the idiots in Charlotte played him in the proper position he'd be more efficient and cause matchup nightmares. This guys is a young gifted Amnestied Athlete needing to prove himself. Just what we need

Hell no. He's a 4, and a terrible one at that.

Thomas is an undersized 4. He's athletic for sure. But no room on this laker team. I'd take a chance on r. Brewer or daye.

They're going to want more money. Tyrus is getting paid well from Charlotte. Almost 10 mil per year

Exactly!!  He can only suck so much to be getting 10 mil per year. Imagine if he was on a team with a winning history. And I believe he had two years left in Charlotte. That means the potential to be Cheap for two years I think. a 27 year old that needs to prove himself for a nice contract in 2015. Great Formula

He's an ultra athletic undersized 4, yet gets consistently burned by the bigger slower 4s of the L, and generally plays zero defense. Dude would get abused tryna guard SFs if lined up at the 3.

In addition he can't make a jump shot for the death of him, and must be force fed at the rim to make any sort of contribution.

What [expletive]in good is that gonna bring the Lakers.

Sounds a little like Blake Griffin

Eric's gotta point

Eric Pincus @EricPincus 44s

If I'm Lakers - I give James Johnson a call to see if he'll come for the min - not sure he will but he's a great MWP replacement

James Johnson has great defense!

so he got really hot one night and racked up an impressive number of blocks

it doesn't change a career's worth of unreliability

he's young and can still turn it around, but i wouldn't risk it.

Any Sacramento Lakers fans who watched Kings games can tell me about James Johnson? I hear he's a pretty good defensive player. Eric said would like to see the Lakers pick him up.

Stephen Jackson is honestly questionable.  The dude can spread the floor and is known as a solid defender but I think age and youth is what the Lakers should look for and a guy such as Ronnie Brewer, Austin Daye, and possibly guys such as Xavier Henry and Terrence Williams (Although I doubt they'd go for the Vet Min)

I would like to see Captain Jack come to the Lakers. But I don't think his head is on right cause he just lost his baby last year. He came back to play for the Spurs after the accident but was released.

lakers should bring in as much talent as possible, and try to find a piece or two that can stick for the long term

The lakers are not under the salary cap and therefore cannot bid on amnestied players. not like the lakers need any more injury prone players anyways

lakers should bring in as much talent as possible, and try to find a piece or two that can stick for the long term

exactly, they need to try to get some youth while nothing much is at stake. its a balance, but def need to try and be productive towards the future.

Abdul-Jabbar told the San Francisco Chronicle last month he met Howard only once and that Howard expressed an interest in learning from the former Lakers captain but he never again reached out to Abdul-Jabbar.

‘He’s charming, he’s charismatic, very nice young man,’ Abdul-Jabbar said. ‘Maturity-wise, he doesn’t get it.’
