The Cleveland Cavaliers are pushing for free-agent center Andrew Bynum to accept a two-year, $24 million-plus, incentive-based contract offer, league sources told Yahoo! Sports on Monday night.

The Cavaliers met with Bynum in Cleveland on Monday, but could fast lose patience with waiting on the two-time NBA champion center to make a decision on accepting the offer, which includes a team option in the second year of the deal, sources said.

That's a nice deal for someone that didn't play at all last year.

Damn. I think Bynum & his agent should not hesitate twice and take that immediately.

Did Bynum and his agent wear a mask during the contract negociation?

MDA is an offensive genius. I hope he sticks to his guns and keeps doing what he does best: Run and Gun. That's the only way to coach.

If healthy certainly worth it, but thats a big if. Kinda weird making it 2 years considering the soon to be Lebron sweepstakes.

I agree....If he can play 150 games (including playoffs) in two years that could put Cleveland right in the thick of things

Team option on the second year. So basically if he sucks then can just decline his option and he will be a free agent again next year.

It says incentive based, i wonder how much money he is really guaranteed.

real gamble for the cavs. if bynum is healthy and able to play like he used to they're going to be a great young core team. if not, 24 million wasted

It's a big gamble for Cleveland talent-wise.

It's a stone-cold guarantee that they'll be getting a head case.

It's incentive based, so if Bynums reaches most/all of them it's a win-win for both sides.

Wonder what the incentives are tho. Probably games played and minutes played, or maybe a "make the all star team" or a "make an all nba team" incentive in there.

Plus the 2nd year is a team option. If he can stay healthy, him and Kyrie and Co. can make some noise.

He did have his best year under Mike Brown. I don't doubt that Brown can feature him in the offense effectively at all. Great pickup if he's healthy, but another free bucket of millions for Bynum if he can't play again.

If they get a healthy bynum, and a healthy Kyrie they will have one hell of a duo. Its a big risk big reward type thing. Bynum is healthy you have the best offensive center in the game, but if he cant play you just threw a lot of money out the window.

The Cavs can afford this. It's basically a one year deal for 12 million based on incentives, and unless he plays most of the season, they won't pick him up for a second year.

Bynum is going to shop around for the team who offers him the longest contract with no option of early termination. If Bynum misses more than 10 games this next season, he'll knows he'll never land a contract bigger than the minimum.
