yeah he knew he wasn't gonna make the team, so I'm glad that he gets a chance to sign with a team in China after performing there with the Lakers!   Shows how pre-season CAN help guys fighting for jobs.  Good for DJO!!!

Exactly and I thought it was a great by the Lakers to do that verses just holding on to him and ignoring it

Marcus Landry was just waived :(

Just happened and was announced on Access Sportsnet.

I really hope he takes the offer to join the D-Fenders just in case we do need him, and he can bring his family out to LA.

Los Angeles Lakers @Lakers 19s

The Lakers have waived Marcus Landry. Their roster now stands at 15 players.

Unpinning this as we head into the start of the season.  Final roster should be announced tomorrow.

Agree.
I'd say Nash 15 ppg, Blake/Farmar 10 ppg combined - at least.
Kobe will get at least 20ppg - maybe 25.
Bigs. Pau will get 17-18, Kaman +12 and Hill 8-10.
Nick young alone will get 15, and then 5 from 3 other guys. Shouldn't be a problem.

The problem is on the defensive end, where I think Wesley Johnson is the key. He needs to step up.

Nash wont average 15ppg anymore. Maybe if youre talking about mins played / game then thats a bit accurate to say.

So nba.com has us 25th in the Power Rankings and this is the comment :

Key addition(s): Lots of "And one!" yelps
Key question: Just how bad can they be defensively?
Very, very bad. They were awful last season, the only plus defender on the roster (Ed Davis) is competing for minutes with Carlos Boozer and Julius Randle, and the last time Byron Scott (the only candidate, it seems) coached was the last time a team ranked in the bottom five in defensive efficiency three straight seasons.

A bit unfair to use any D'antoni defense to measure an individual player's defensive prowess. I think in a conventional offense this team will battle on both ends, be a strong rebounding unit (especially with our expected low shooting %), and get plenty of 50/50 balls. Plus with Lin & Kobe they're a bigger, more physical backcourt than last year. So they should be able to contest a little better on those screen and rolls, screen and pops.
