Thought I would create a thread to keep the discussion about the roster in here. I'll keep this post updated when we add or subtract players.

C - Chris Kamam / Robert Sacre

PF - Pau Gasol / Jordan Hill / Ryan Kelly

SF - Nick Young / Wesley Johnson

SG - Kobe Bryant / Jodie Meeks

PG - Steve Nash / Steve Blake / Jordan Farmar

I would say sit Kobe out this season rather than tiring his legs and wasting another year so that LA can get a decent pick in the draft that will actually help when it comes to rebuilding next offseason, but Kobe's too competitive and will be back by December playing as hard as he can. It'll suck to see him trying hard and the Lakers probably not making the playoffs but oh well.

If only we had this really young player with tons of potential that only was asking for a 4.5 mill contract.

Bring Kobe back mid December, Im sure LAL/HOU is a christmas day game. Lets go all out for that one.  Hope he can pass MJ rack up some stats, try playing PG?

One last time we see Pau/Kobe do their thing

February trade deadline...trade Nash, Pau, Blake, get as many trade picks you can get and young players on rookie contracts (Moe Harkless anyone?). Kids like that

Next season will be considered successful if the Lakers can sweep their season series against Houston(and Boston), Kobe comes back averaging 18.0+ ppg, and D'Antoni is fired.

We have no depth at the 3 though after Metta, I am wondering who the FO has their eye on?

I guess everyone pessimism stems from Kobe's injury and our 17-25 start last season.

We had moments , past the All-Star break when Pau played better in the post than dwight, and Nash and Kobe played at a solid level and we won a decent amount of games.

i think we win more games than last season without dwight.

We did good without Bynum those years and Kobe played at a level  that was lower than he played last season.

If Nashj and Pau can have healthy seasons, we'll be much better than people expect

I somewhat agree in the fact that the record won't be as bad as some are making it. But I would be surprised if we broke .500, especially considering Kobe won't be around for roughly the first half of the season and then trying to get in the groove of things so to speak.

I guess we will go as high as Nash/Gasol can carry us. The intangibles being Hill and Kaman apparently.

My guess is the team wins somewhere between 30-39 games and probably doesn't make the playoffs. 10th seed or so in the West.

In my books: lakers will win over 50 games. Period.

C Pau Gasol / Chris Kaman / Robert Sacre

PF Jordan Hill / Lamar Odom / Ryan Kelly

SF Kobe Bryant / Sasha Vujacic

SG Nick Young / Jodie Meeks

PG Steve Nash / Steve Blake / Jordan Farmar

It would have been nice to trade Blake for a starting SF.

Whoever the lakers draft next year it seems like that kid is going to have a lot of pressure as a rookie because he's going to be wanted to be a productive nba player right away. Don't expect too much from a mid 1st round draft pick.

Umm maybe the fact that you think we can trade an over payed, old, unproductive 3rd string point guard for a starting small forward, lol.

If Warriors can trade overpayed, old, unproductive Richard Jefferson for Andre Igoudala, yes we can trade Blake who has performed good last season for a starting SF. And if Mbah Moute is traded for mere 2nd round pick, yes we can trade Blake for a starting SF.

 Not all starting SFs are Kevin Durant.
