Phil Jackson on the situation and what he thinks about Gasol.

Reflection on DHoward’s exodus. He left a distaste in Lakerland The Lakers will be fine. Pau fits MDA’s style of Off-it was about the future. What DH brings to the game is power and D. This past year didn’t show due it to rehab and confusion. If he is better of an Astro, so be it.

Thoughts?  Does Gasol fit better as the 5 in the kind of offense D'antoni prefers?  Let's assume Kobe is the main ball handler and not Nash.  But when running pick and rolls with Nash and with Kobe, is Gasol the better fit?    Or does it come down to his willingness to pick and roll?  Because we all know that DH was the best PnR big man in the game and for whatever reason he chose not to commit to the pick and rolls at all(but that's another thread).   So because of Gasol's willingness TO run pick and roll and his skill in that area and because of the kind of center he is, is he a better fit for Kobe, and importantly is he a better fit for Nash?

Did Phil Jackson said Houston Astros?   Talk about disrespecting the Rockets LOL

MDA is an offensive genius. I hope he sticks to his guns and keeps doing what he does best: Run and Gun. That's the only way to coach.

He probably has more playoff wins than the entire franchise :)

I also think the Lakers will be fine, only time and patience will tell. Do we currently have a championship squad? I have greater doubts in that regard.

We will be fine in time. From a dysfunctional level, better than last year imo when Kobe comes back. I was never impressed with this team at all last year anyway. It will be tough but I'm excited for the future. Championship? No. But that wasn't happening anyway. Let's just see if we can surprise a few people. That's all I'm hoping for 2013<br />
