I really would rather not have Melo on this team. He still seems immature, doesn't play much defense, and is selfish on offense. If he does sign onto the Lakers, I'd want a better coach, Kobe to still be there obviously, and at least another all star or two before I'd even feel comfortable with it.

Considering his net worth is the highest of an active NBA player right now one could reason that he doesnt need the money. Kobe would gladly trade money to get a shot at another ring.

Carmelo has already commented that things would be different if he was on a team with Kobe Bryant and has referenced the times they played in the Olympics together as the example.    He said people didn't think him and Kobe could gel on a team together so they proved everyone wrong in the Olympics.

It's no question by this point that if Carmelo became a Laker he'd willingly change his game to be with Kobe, he has said as much and proven as much.

^ we'll see.

He may feel that with what Interest he generates from the seats to ESPN and espn radio, yahoo sports and all these people who get money or ad money just for talking or writing about Kobe, and 10 million may not be worth his time.

I know there is a team with some good pieces that would give kobe 34 million for 2 years.

Offensively he's phenomenal, he has a huge arsenal. And he can rebound. Not a willing passer. Not a great defender.

I'd definitely want him on the team. He can light it up from everywhere.

i thin Rick carliese might want to part ways with cuban soon. Does the guy even WANT to win now.

Cuban is all about the mighty $$$.

If you really think about it, they weren't expecting to win that last title. And he wasn't gone pay major $$$ to keep the gang together

Kobe is close friends with Melo and knows D'Antoni's offense. That's a positive. The negatives could be does Melo wanna leave his hometown of New York? Is LaLa gonna convince him to stay or move back to LA again with Melo? Cause she is also from New York. And is Melo willing to play for D'Antoni again?

The Knicks will fail this year, that's not a concern.

Not my favorite guy but as a sidekick he can work out fine - just not as the number one guy.

Well he's 30 so he'd really be a "take one more shot with Kobe " type guy
