If Kobe were healthy and given the immense pride factor, I'd say this roster could match if not surpass the wins from the Howard season. I am a big fan of Hill starting, leaving Gasol spaced. A healthy season from Nash is a big factor now that he doesn't have to accomodate for Howard. But again all these possible tweaks depend on the coach.

With Will Bynum staying in Detroit (wonder how good they will be next season?), I had noticed DeJuan Blair and Anthony Morrow are FA's still.

Could have had Dorell Wright for the same amount of money.

That's what I'm hoping for, thought I read somewhere they wanna play Pau alongside him though? Maybe just at spurts during the rotational substitutions.

That's the gamble, but it's an ok gamble since it's only a 1 year deal

yelling and screaming about it won't make moves happen faster.  The front office can reach out to a player but they may want to weigh all their options.  What's the rush?  Not like the season is starting tomorrow and a lot of the guys being scooped up right now aren't ones we can afford and are getting 9 million 8 million 12 million dollar deals.

Saying "DARN I WISH THE LAKERS MADE A RUN AT HIM" doesn't mean they would have taken the paycut.

being patient is all you can do I'm afraid.

Yeah & most guys are not exactly in a hurry to take any of our low offers. They and their agents want to milk it in most cases as much as possible desperately hoping some other teams with more to offer eventually come in & offer them more. If not, that's when they become desperate at their maximum and come back to us more than willing to take our low offer/s.

Could have had Dorell Wright for the same amount of money.

Nah...Wright turned down two other deals that were only one year in length, one offering him $4 million (forgot where, hard to keep track of FA's teams). The Portland deal he took was a two-year contract for roughly $3 million a year.

A player like Wright deserves a bit more than what we gave Kaman (who also should have sniffed out a 2+ year deal, being an injury-prone big). I'd even go as far as saying Wright should have gotten more than 2yr/$6 mill.
