The Clippers and the representatives for Antawn Jamison have been talking about the free-agent forward joining the team, said NBA executives who were not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.

The most the Clippers could offer Jamison is the veteran minimum of $1.4 million for a player with 10-plus years of NBA experience.

The Clippers have agreed to re-sign center Ryan Hollins, the 7-footer announced on his Twitter feed Sunday.

Jamison, 37, played for the Lakers last season. He averaged 9.4 points and 4.8 rebounds in 21.5 minutes, mostly as a reserve. He made 46.4% of his shots from the field and 36.1% of his three-pointers.

If the Clippers are able to agree to a deal with the 6-9, 235-pound Jamison, he’ll give them some scoring off the bench in the frontcourt.

Jamison, who has been an All-Star twice, has career averages of 18.8 points and 7.6 rebounds over 16 seasons, during which he has shot 45.2% from the field and 34.7% from three-point range.

The Clippers also are interested in re-signing center/forward Ronny Turiaf.

Those potential signings could mean that free-agent forward Lamar Odom won’t be playing for the Clippers next season.

Lakers need to fill 5 or 6 roster spots or they might not even be able to participate next season. Although that might be a good thing...

Clippers Clippers, got a ton of floor spacers & shooters, but still not much of a post-game to compliment it. I'm amazed at out of all the new players they've brought in, not one time have they tried bringing in a post-player to address their greatest weakness.

JJ Redick, Jared Dudley, Matt Barnes, Darren Collison, and now potentially Antawn Jamison. Those are the moves a superstar can get you, and we're going to be left picking up D-League players or people off of the street. Only good news is that there is no way they have enough minutes to play ALL of those wing players. It's one thing to have a plan, but it looks like their strategy is to stockpile as much talent as possible. Not a bad problem to have.

and to deliberately not address their greatest weakness at all in the process.

We needed Jamison to produce all season and really be the 6th man. He wasn't really able to do that. He could in stretches but then he would have a stretch of doing nothing.  Clippers dont need him as a 6th man. He can come in and if playing good stay playing if not go out. He fits well with them,

He is an ex-Laker, I wouldn't be surprised.

All these shooters and scorers with no post presence on the offensive end.

Have fun Clippers.  They're like the mid-'90s Raiders of the NBA now.  Just grab everyone they kind of know with no regard to team.  Enjoy.

Jamison is a good guy but its not like their bench offense is horrible. IMO, they should get a few bigs who can rebound and play defense and back up Blake Griffin and Deandre Jordan.

So this is what their team looks like so far assuming they don't bring back Odom and get Jamison over him, and don't bring back Billups or Turiaf either:

Doc Rivers

Chris Paul / Darren Collison / Maalik Wayns

JJ Redick / Jamal Crawford / Willie Green / Reggie Bullock / DaJuan Summers

Jared Dudley / Matt Barnes

Blake Griffin / Antawn Jamison

DeAndre Jordan / Ryan Hollins

Looks alright, but still would've been much better with someone like Pierce on the wing, who can legitimately create his own shot as well as offense for others if need be and especially another & much better post presence in someone like a KG, who can also make you pay and knock down the mid-range shot.

The West has gotten weaker overall  this off season.  It will take the Rockets a year to gel, at least.  OKC weaker, SAS a year older, Memphis a bit of a question makl with a new coach.  Could be the year that GSW or the Clippers make a run at the WFC.

Like I said if they want to become the Suns they got the wrong coach.

They hired Alvin Gentry to help out Doc.

what was the point of them getting Doc who believes in post presence and defense then?

you got a main coach that believes in post presence and defense and his assistant is a guy that coached the Suns after D'antoni left with virtually the same style =P

Goes to show how not getting Garnett really screwed their plans.

So terrible on the inside, so terrible.

The spot where you win the ring, playoffs and defense - they are simply wretched.

Let's see what Doc can do with the talent that is there.  He will be alot better at adjusting to what he has than MDA ever has or can.

This would be a great pickup for the Clippers.  Even though its still a fools gold team they are going to be really good.
