Wtf. Horrible trade for us right there man

Defensive anchor, Very good scoring guard and we trade away some of our immediate cap flexibility

But if you can squeeze in a Kobe and Melo and Hill and Wes Johnson around those two, I think you're building the type of team that can compete

Gotta love Asik with the DNP last night. Meanwhile Dwight scores 7 points on 1-of-5 shooting being guarded by Andrea Bargnani.

Plus he let Bargnani drop 24 points mostly on him as well. Here are a few of Dwight's failures against Bargnani last night. He's now made both Bargnani & Pau, two of the softest damn players in the league look like defensive beasts.

So Dwight can now be guarded 1 on 1 by Bargnani.....

Like I said.. his time as the 'best center in the game' doesn't go past this year.

Houston can be a scary team if they decide to trade Araik for some pieces to make them really deep.

If not, they're still not getting out of the first round.

The reason why Asik is very difficult to move is because he is owed $14 million next season which most teams find very unattractive.  Yeah he is a solid defensive presence and can be a starting Center on some teams but he is not worth 14 mil.

I personally think the best trade would be with the Knicks for Bargnani as many people have already stated.  But once Chandler comes back, Asik will most likely go back to the bench unless the Knicks decide to play big ball which is so out of character.  Also a deal with the Suns for Channing Frye wouldn't be to bad, but I doubt it happens cause the Suns are in a prime position to rebuild and don't need an ugly contract like Asik's.

Yes with the upcoming draft 2014, teams want as much cap space as can be.

Situation with Asik is this: He did not take his removal from starting lineup well and that's largely why he's not playing for HOU right now.

Story making rounds: Asik was challenged by coaches/teammates for not being "engaged" upon hearing Thursday in NYC he was no longer starting.

Mini version of Marbury with NY years back.

After getting paid all that money moving forward kinda getting tossed aside for Dwight one understands he doesn't want to come off the bench.

Dwight hasn't exactly helped their defense as much, their defense is still among the worst in the league because of their perimeter defenders that still suck.   (The Lakers are actually ranked higher defensively than Houston thus far this year.  Fancy that...)

Oh keep him there lol I hope no team takes him just to see how this unfolds.  But I'm sure they'll trade him, hard as it may be.

Report: Rockets Certain To Trade Omer Asik

Omer Asik’s behavior is forcing Houston to trade him. The writing was on the wall for Asik when Dwight Howard came to town. Asik has been asking for a trade since July, but now he’s taking extra measures.

Asik isn’t fully engaged in team activities and it’s gotten to the point where he didn’t even suit up for the
contest in Denver last night.

The center was scratched from Saturday’s home game against Denver essentially because he’s so unhappy with his new role that he’s in no state to play. Word is Asik has been asking the Rockets pretty much once a week, since
Dwight Howard‘s arrival in July, to please trade him elsewhere.

This sounds bad, but I kind of want to see this come to a boiling point.

Professionalism at its finest.

Can't say I blame the guy. Imagine if Dallas landed Kobe and Monta Ellis was forced out of the starting lineup after getting the impression that he was one of the key pieces on the roster going forward. I don't think he'd be thrilled either.

That being said, everything that's bad in Houston is fine with me.

Gasol for Asik?

It's not like the Rockets are struggling without him though and in the Rockets next 9 games I see maybe 1 team that would trouble them.  The rest should more or less be easy wins with or without Asik.

True.

To me it's strange why they even considered keeping him in Houston. Asik is a starting C in this league and one of the best defenders at the position but in Houston they have Howard and a couple of solid back-ups in Donatas Motiejunas and Greg Smith. Yet, at the PF position, they're playing Omri Casspi and Terrence Jones.

They could land a draft pick, Paul Millsap, a handful of back-ups, Ryan Anderson as well as a handful of other guys who'd fit right in at the PF spot in Houston. I even think they could land Chris Bosh.

Speaking of Ryan Anderson, boy did he go off. Made the Pelicans just that more deadly inside and out.

Yeah if Ryan Anderson beasts and Davis continues to shine, I don't see why the Pelicans would get rid of him for Asik.
