It's not like the Rockets are struggling without him though and in the Rockets next 9 games I see maybe 1 team that would trouble them. The rest should more or less be easy wins with or without Asik.
To me it's strange why they even considered keeping him in Houston. Asik is a starting C in this league and one of the best defenders at the position but in Houston they have Howard and a couple of solid back-ups in Donatas Motiejunas and Greg Smith. Yet, at the PF position, they're playing Omri Casspi and Terrence Jones.
They could land a draft pick, Paul Millsap, a handful of back-ups, Ryan Anderson as well as a handful of other guys who'd fit right in at the PF spot in Houston. I even think they could land Chris Bosh.
