Lakers would do well to step in...S&T Dwight for Asik...

At least we'd get something out of the deal without having to trade Pau...

Except the Rockets would have Lin instead of Nash, and harden instead of Kobe.  And no bench...and would be more CBA screwed than we are this year AND next year....

I hope Dwight enjoys playing 48 minutes a night next to Harden just to keep that team afloat without the excuse of injuries.

So a 39/40 YO Nash at the point is superior to Lin?  And (at best) 1/2 season of Kobe coming back from a major injury is superior to Harden? And Meeks, Morris and Sacre are superior to Smith, Jones, Beverly and Asik?  As far as being "CBA screwed" we did that to ourselves.

Injuries?  Were those really a surprise given our players' ages and misuse?  I doubt Dwight will have to keep them afloat, they are a vastly improved team with him as a defensive anchor and meaningful offensive contributions.

Majesty, you provide alot of great insight on this board, unfortunately this post is not one of them ....

Rockets center Omer Asik has requested to be traded. (h/t ESPN)

Per @Jonathan_Feigen, Omer Asik has reiterated request for a trade. First calls I'd make: New Orleans (Ryan Anderson) & Philly (Thad Young)

What about to New York for Bargnani, and the Knicks taking Asik as they are in desperate need of a center.

Ryan Andersen would actually make Houston very capable of being dangerous.

If I'm a contender right now in the West, they don't scare me.

Throw Andersen alongside Dwight again? With Parsons and Harden? Good luck.

While it is a terrible trade as far as face up player worth meaning Asik is a much superior player to Bargnani, in this case with the Rockets, Bargnani wouldn't constantly clash with Howard in the paint and would space the floor even more and increase three point shooting. So it kind of works considering the direction of team the Rockets want to become.

Still Asik is a legit center in this league, good rebounder, intensity and decent free throw shooter.

Not surprised. Asik has looked downright depressed on the bench. Doesn't wanna' be there at all.

^ Kinda, but after the first time, he just calmed down a bit with time and tried to give things a chance. Turned out things couldn't work out the way he wanted obviously.

As do I lol Lin and Howard already look like they don't get along so well.
As far as a trading partner I think that Knicks trade is the most equal valued they could get.
The other two mentioned trades are ridiculously one sided in the rockets favor.

Gotta love Asik with the DNP last night. Meanwhile Dwight scores 7 points on 1-of-5 shooting being guarded by Andrea Bargnani.

Easiest thing to see coming.

Quality player, but the Rockets would actually benefit from getting a wing player for him and freeing up space inside for Howard.

We all knew that Dwight cannot play at this height with another big in the middle.  Why Houston thought this would work is beyond me.
