Just in case some of you are wondering, the checking into rehab has nothing to do with the NBA.

Odom checking into rehab was a stipulation that needed to be agreed upon because attorney Robert Shapiro said he would only represent LO if he was open to getting treatment.

Lamar was eventually going to get help so it's not a surprise.  Don't read anything more into the situation other than a man getting the help he needs.

Lamar is a cry baby.

However, I truly feel bad for the guy. Despite being a million dollar athlete, he hasn't exactly had everything go his way in life.

We owe Lamar (the same Lamar that helped us win 2 titles) an opportunity to turn his life around and offer him a camp invite.

I'm not going to make excuses for his fragile mindset, but the front office was around the guy long enough to know that he wouldn't react nicely to being traded without warning. He had the best years of his career here.

He helped the franchise, now it's our turn to help him. This season has no promise, anyway.

"It sucks to hear," Farmar said in a phone interview this week when asked about the string of misfortunes following Odom these days, from alleged drug use to an arrest on suspicion of driving under the influence.

"It's unfortunate. A couple of us have reached out to him and haven't heard back. That's just a sign of him going through some tough times."

Those of you saying things like "fragile mindset" (which I'd expect more of from a contributor) really have no clue what it's like to have or know someone who goes through mental instability.

This is a pointless remark if you're not going to expand on what you want to say regarding the meaning of "mental instability."

Losing an infant child and countless family members has a negative effect on your mentality, believe it or not. Lamar was fragile long before we traded him. The dude is a multi-millionaire who can get anything he wants in the world, yet he hits rock bottom and becomes a crackhead. You're telling me he has a stable mindset?

I'm actually quite eager for you to tell me how Lamar is feeling and what's going on in his head.

Mark Willard and Arash Markazi discuss Lamar Odom's downward spiral and debate whether the Lakers should consider bringing him back.

Honestly I think he's just battling the the Kardashian media train.  Hate to say but everyone knew this was gonna happen or something similar.  Dude probably isnt on drugs especially something as cheap as crack.  If anything he'd be abusing alcohol or some prescription drug.

real rehab takes months, if hes problem is depression then months too, you are reaching too far saying that a camp invite should be offered.

let lamar rehab and then gets into shape and we can start talking about bb, now he needs to figure out how to fight his deamons and get clean. his life should be priority, not if he returns to the lakers

You see... The lakers aren't a rehab center, kobe is not a psychologist/psychiatrist
Lamar is done with basketball until he got his life straight

If his family wanted to help him, why haven't they intern him into rehab, why they choose voluntary entry?

That's a little much to question if his family cares.

Yeah, it's a recent pic. People think the drugs (obviously) did that to him.
