Why amnesty him? The one idiot that needs to be amnestied is Metta World Peace. Pau at least can give us something in return I'm sure.

Its not enough to stay under the luxury

Come on guys let's compete this year, we still have Kobe Bryant. All of your hopes goes down because of Dwight Howard?, D12 Didn't give us a ring, let the coward go. Now Pau Gasol is our Center he's not gonna be the facilitator anymore that used to be support cast.

Kobe and Gasol COMBO !

I don't think Kobe knows what tanking means. The worse the team, the higher his clip haha. If Nash retired and Pau was amnestied, Kobe would probably just go for 101 points in a game or something. Doubtful he can pull a Robinson and sit out the season. But it will most definitely be an interesting one.

Im really concerned about the next few years. How are we going to recruit with no future star players on the team...when Free agents look at our roster and you have an aging Gasol and Kobe is that really convincing?

I think we're heading in the dark ages here...we need to tank and rack up some picks for 2014. We can rebound fast in 2-3 yrs IMO then the free agents get excited at the youth and potential in our roster

That was my idea as well, but do you really think Kobe Bryant will sit back and "tank?"

Its not about Dwight/Houston anymore...its about us. What do we have to offer in order to build a title contender and how can we lure players who can help us do that.  We're at Square 1 right now

We have to get rid of Nash before summer 2014. I mean I like him but it's 9,7M less on our salary cap for the "big rebuilding".

Fortunately with the Celtics blowing their team up, we won't have to endure a Rockets-Celtics final any time soon.

I can't see Kobe willingly tank. Would be nice to rack up some 2014 picks though and go big after some FA then.

Just play the games, it is that simple. At least now players like Nash and Pau who have been put down relentlessly in this entire process have a chance to redeem themselves if not by at least being competitive. This is where true pride in one's skill comes in.

When was the last time the Lakers actually did sign a superstar FA? No, Malone and Payton does not count.

Lakers are like the girl you dumped in HS because someone is hotter/prettier than her. In the end that girl ended up being a millionaire, you, still stuck with the loser girl wishing you should have been with her all this time. .
