Just added poll for a little basis but more interested in the comments. What the hell do we do now?

We have an aged backcourt, no cap room, an old front court, a bad coach. So in reality we have no chance at a championship and we have no real chance of tanking with a Kobe, Nash and Pau??? What a mess. [expletive] you Dwight.

Laker fan for life.

I'll be furious if we tank. Washington tanks. Sacramento tanks. Charolette, New Orleans, Orlando tank. Not the Los Angeles Lakers. Not as long as we have Kobe Bryant.

The problem is we don't have Kobe. Not sure if ur aware of this but he tore his achilies late last year  ???? IMO talk of coming back by December would be stupid on his part

Before we amnesty MWP, metta should put the hurt on D12 whenthe rockets are in town... & speaking of the amnesty, would it be even relevant now especially if the lakers arent contending?

Lakers don't fold. They aren't losers. Although the bungling effort displayed by the FO (Jim buss holding onto MDA) makes me question the institutional controls and direction. Wouldn't it be great if Jeanie deposed her fool brother? This whole situation is enough for my lack of faith in Jim buss to be solidified.

No need to tank, just play the 82 games out, and if there are no playoffs in the horizon, then re-build in the draft and spend those FA dollars for the 2014 season. Tanking is ugly.

Tanking is way too risky and we have Kobe Bryant. You never know.

Obviously we're not favorites or considered contenders at the moment but [expletive] could just click. It happens.

It doesnt matter. Very good chance we wont get wiggins so thats not a good plan. Its gonna be a while till we actually get a decent laker team out there. Welcome to the dark years people. If you though last season was bad just wait how this ones gonna be.

My number one concern is how are we going to sell ourselves to free agents? Honestly, we need to do our best and use Blake, Nash, Pau, and whomever and find a third team to get Rondo.

We should amnesty him to get under the luxury tax. Were not gonna win anything anyway so why waste money and have us get a higher tax rate.

We won't need to tank to be abysmal next season. We will be abysmal all by ourselves.

Play the games out, get a good pick. That's all we can do.

Why amnesty him? The one idiot that needs to be amnestied is Metta World Peace. Pau at least can give us something in return I'm sure.

+100.  And you forgot San Antonio, who tank more than Stalin.  I hope to God the Lakers don't stoop to that level.

Also, tanking is very unlikely to even work for the Lakers.  If you think the Lakers are going to win the Lottery, or even get a high pick, you cannot possibly be very familiar with the NBA.

So, the Lakers will suck it up, put together the best roster they can without committing long-term money, and re-rebuild.  Or, maybe Kupchak will find a rabbit in a hat, and make a big trade of some sort.
