Some nice things and some accurate negative things said about Cuban in this thread.  He and Ballmer seem to be very similar but I will venture that few  here will be as objective about Ballmer after a couple of years in.

He's won a title and treats his players great when they are there. He is out there and visible, maybe to a fault. He made Dallas relevant in the NBA world.

I think he's a loudmouth, smug and arrogant [expletive] - but even so, he's better than the decaying, walking corpses descended from 19th century robber barons that characterize most team owners.

In the meantime...

The Spurs (that OTHER Texas team) continue to outplay both.

concur.

Pretty much the best owner since the Dr., although he doesn't have the class that Buss did.

Still like the guy a lot and admire him even more.

Shark Tank is really gaining traction and seems to compete w the mavs for his attention.

Got to admit im hooked on the show...though the presentations seem more and more alike and might benefit from a bit of change

Morey has no ground in that argument. Those Mavs were lightning in a bottle and if anyone thought they'd be able to recreate what they did in those playoffs moving forward they would only be fooling themselves.

Morey busted up his team before they got out of the first round.  He shouldn't be talking about what Cuban does with a title team when Morey is busting up first round teams.

They need a third star, two top of their position stars, w/ two top ten in their position support playes, plus second team defense all star was not good enough. weren't enough. I don't see morey's logic.
