every mediocre free agent available.

What the heck is going on? What have we been reduced to? Even the crappy Bucks are shooting for Iggy....no way they'll get him but damn, at least they're trying to land a good FA.

Now before I get all these"you have no idea what Mitch has planned, 2014 plan, blah blah", this seems really desperate. If I'm D12 looking at what my potential suitor team is trying to surround me with, this is NOT enticing.

Perhaps our star is fading and it's just a sign of the times *sigh*

Cap space. Not sure what you don't understand. It's really not difficult.

Of course I understand that we have little to no flexibility, but christ...Jordan Farmar? What's next, a Luke Walton signing?

Why not just  wait to re-tool until we can sign someone halfway decent, instead of dangling 2 million in front of anyone who can make a 3? We did that last year and got Jodie Meeks and I think we all know how that turned out

Having interest doesn't really mean much.

They are just exploring any option they have. When you have no cap space, you get mediocre free agents.

Instead of complaining about it give examples of who we can sign with what we can offer. I dont think you understand the cap.

or with his speed

maybe lakers are planning on playing some triangle and he has years of experience with it and can help dictate some to nash

im just gonna wait and see what happens

be it good or bad

either dwight stays or leaves

illl be watching all 82 games

My point is the next year is a wash anyways. Why not just suck it up and be bad for a couple years til we can really get something going again? What are we gonna do, just throw around 1 year minimum contracts and bet the farm on 2014?

I get it, we can't spend much anything til our huge contracts come off the books, but this is just sad. The Lakers have turned into the desperate girl at the party.

Listen man:

Meeks is a 1 million dollar player.

Kobe is  a 30 million dollar player

Pau is 19

Dwight 17

Nash 9

When the guys up above aren't doing what they are supposed to do, thats why we lose.

Meeks is a VERY good player for the price.

you want get Korver or a guy like that for under 3 million.

You obviously don't understand our cap situation although you "think" you do.

We have the mini-MLE and veteran minimum contracts to offer. You will get players that fit that bill.

The thought that our FO is pursuing Jordan Farmar and players of his ilk is depressing, that's the point of this thread.

No, what's depressing is the mentality of Lakers fans.

Last year we MADE OUR MOVES FOR THIS YEAr

MOVES that were considered by 90% of NBA people to be GREAt moves.

Who do you want to pursue that we could actually afford?

Actually, it looks like the Lakers are the hot girl at the party that everyone wants a piece of... patience, it will turn out fine.

It amazes me how some guys have such high expectations and think its simple to sign any name out there in free agency yet don't realize the basic aspects of the game such as cap space and salary tax...

What angers me is that we want to add some athleticism but we don't contact Dorrell Wright,Allen,Webster or guys like them. What do you know, maybe they'll accept mMLE to play for the Lakers.

But we don't even ask,we go asking Mullens,Copeland and other scrubbies. I know agents sometimes throw Lakers as a potential suitor to raise interest in their player, but this is too much scrubs for that,we actually showed interest about them.

Impossible is nothing.
