The Lakers also inquired about Charlotte free agent Byron Mullens on Sunday night, per a league source.

WTF, why this guy?!

Ability to spread the floor and rebound (sometimes).  He is widely inconsistent.  If we are talking about a MMLE then OK, but not worth much more IMO.

Is all this info coming from the Lakers, or being put out there by various agents to try to create the illusion that there is a whirlwind of interest in their clients?

i remember he put up 25/16 boards against the C's.

Everything is relative to price..

hill,Ryan kelly and mullens would make it VERY easy to trade Pau for Iggy lets say or someone up to par

I like Mullens. The best player on the bobcats. Can stroke it, athletic, and can run the floor, and a ok rebounder and young. dont think we can get him for the mmle. Ill take him over kelly if we can get him. good back up pf/c

BJ is not a scrub, but he is not going to get $8m a year... I know him from Ohio State. He has a great work ethic and is constantly working on improving his game - specifically his back to the basket and 3 point shot.  He could be considered a "soft" player, but if we have Dwight he is a cheap 4 that would fit really well if we trade Gasol.

probably a little of both. agents do that and teams put several irons in the fire, especially when they have a variable like dwight.

mullens is ok but bigs are usually overpaid for and the lakers cant do that. well, they cant do that with anyone not named dwight.

Abdul-Jabbar told the San Francisco Chronicle last month he met Howard only once and that Howard expressed an interest in learning from the former Lakers captain but he never again reached out to Abdul-Jabbar.

‘He’s charming, he’s charismatic, very nice young man,’ Abdul-Jabbar said. ‘Maturity-wise, he doesn’t get it.’
