Young is motivated to maximize Lakers playing time on "biggest stage" to "get my name back out there and get the respect I deserve

."

Lakers expectations in 2013-14? @NickSwagyPYoung: "Anything less than a ring for @kobebryant, I think, is going to be disappointing."

Come on Nick, lets be  realistic

Really? You don't think they'll "tank" like a lot of Laker fans are desperately hoping?

I don't see what's wrong with what Nick said.

1) Kobe will say the same thing

2) Would you all be okay with him saying, "We are going to be fighting for a playoff spot, hopefully we stay out of the lottery."

I think Nick Young said the right thing and he seems to understand what Kobe expects.

If anyone came to the Lakers with a not so serious attitude as if this year was a wash or was going to be easy then there'd be problems.   Big big problems so I'm glad to hear it.

If he said "well this season is a wash" that would have been a red flag.

If the Lakers have a chance to win in any facet they are gonna take it.  We should know that by now.

I've always liked Steve Blake.

Lol, at least we know Young talks big. Hopefully he plays big.

As some of us suspected it looks like he's indeed using this year to try and get his name out there and get a big contract out of it.

  1. Nick Young is wearing No. 0 with Lakers to "start from the bottom again." (And because Farmar told him he was taking No. 1.)

Metta World Peace walked into the Lakers practice facility shortly after Nick Young's presser ended

I wonder if Nick Young's statement about anything less than a ring makes it to more mainstream media like ESPN's PTI or First Take. I doubt it though. It probably would if he was a bigger name.

It's crazy that in this day in age such an important moment could not be recorded and directly available to access to the public with all the many technologies and social media we have today. Pathetic.
