Yes! The move that we needed! Thanks Swaggy P!

Now the roster stands at:

C Pau Gasol / Chris Kaman

PF Jordan Hill / Lamar Odom / Ryan Kelly

SF Nick Young / Chris Douglas-Roberts

SG Kobe Bryant / Jodie Meeks

PG Steve Nash / Steve Blake / Jordan Farmar

This team will easily perform better than last year's.

He already got a :stu2:  from Stu

And since I mostly place his missed layup attempts.

I will balance that out with some positive energy and post a highlight video.

Again PLEASE slow your game down and don't force things.  You got top potential if you do that, even if you only do it for one year do it for this one

I'm sure Kobe will influence him a lot. We might even a more 'refined' Swaggy P during the course of the season.

Looking at what Kobe did for Shannon in his time here those first 2 years I wouldn't doubt it.

lakers have needed a player like this for the last 2-3 years..

great pickup..
lakers got options...
they can get under the luxury tax with a couple moves, and still have a team out there competing

I like how much confidence he has. Not many guys can come on the floor and have the balls to take so many shots and run the floor like he does. Just needs to calm things down and relax a bit! He has never played with guys of the like of Nash, Kobe and Gasol so im sure he is going to learn lots from them.

Honestly with so many veterans and guys such as Nash and Kobe around him if Nick Young works hard, stays humble, puts in the time and work towards his craft, he could be our Jamal Crawford 2.0

We definitely improved our bench this offseason. We just need to fill the gap at the 3 and 4.

I would definitely entertain the idea of rolling the dice and trading Blake, with Jordy back. I think he's going to be a really underrated addition. Him playing under DWill in New Jersey really helped him mature and improved his jumper. Apparently also helped bring in Young

Wouldn't amnesty Blake he was one of our most consistent shooters and better defenders last year.

Young was always one of those "auditioners" what I mean is he's a guy that would always play good against the Lakers like he wanted to be there.  I put Zach Randolph on that list too when he was a blazer when he somehow became a 3 point shooter whenever we played them X_X

He seems overwhelmed and really happy to be on the team, quite evident with the pay cut he took. Take notes D12.

d12 DID take a paycut though...

not the right angle...

True, I meant it in a 'he took a pay cut, just so he could play for the Lakers' way. As opposed to D12, who didn't seem to want to be here regardless of how good the franchise is.

Besides Kobe, i haven't seen any Lakers do stuff like this for a long time.

He's like a Shannon Brown 2.0.

I like him, and would be really excited if we were competing for something, but this season is gonna be dreadful...

We haven't had a second guy that could create his own shot and score 30 on a given night aside from Kobe in a long time.  Actually I think the only people aside from Kobe in maybe the last 6 or 7 years that could get their own shot in an iso is probably Metta and Nash.  That's it!  None like Young though, I think this is the first time Kobe's actually had a guy on the same team with him capable of scoring at a high rate from an iso.

Nick Young is inconsistent but he's a legit second weapon on the court with Kobe and unlike Meeks can get his own shot and score off broken plays.   KOBE has needed that for a long time.  So even though some of the crazy stuff Nick attempts make me hit the desk in anger and shake my head, I understand that if Nick does well Kobe's minutes go down, and we have a legit second scorer on this team not named Kobe Bryant that could get his own shot.

So for all intents and purposes I want this to be Nick's greatest year in his career

Takes time away from Kobe but also takes some weight off his shoulders if he plays his role right and learns.

you know quite honestly..

Let's say we pick up Odom and CDR alright?

If we LOOK at this roster under Phil, we WOULD be talking about a championship this year.

Think about it.

We'd have the core group of Pau, Kobe, Odom

We'd replace Fisher with Nash
Blake chicken pox free.
Shannon with Young
Ron or Ariza with CDR
Powell with Hill
6th Man Odom for Happy to be home Odom
Mbenga for Kaman

Under Phil Jackson if we look at this roster we WOULD be talking about a potential late playoff to championship run and possibly being "one piece away" from being a serious threat .

Do you believe that even under Phil Jackson, we would have won those two back to back titles if the big three were already in Miami?
