when you put a previous championship team back together, you are going to try to contend even though you don't have a chance because the league has changed rapidly.

BTW, did i read Nick Young was gonna come here? wtf. for the min?

I wish. Get some people in here that are proud to wear the uniform. Guys that will sell the lakers. The brand has taken a blow, need to bring it back

He's said on record that he'd like to change it back, but the process is so long & tedious that it's slightly overwhelming.

Farmar talks about the Lakers and why he is willing to take less money in order to play for his former team.

http://espn.go.com/l...-angeles-lakers

"I've been a Laker since I was born," Farmar said. "I grew up a Laker fan, so regardless of where I am or who I'm playing for, or what I'm doing in life, I'm always going to stay connected to what's going on here [in Los Angeles]."

Awesome

Go Farmar, go LAKERS

WE'LL BE BACK MOTHER [expletive]ERS

That's the kind of player you want on your team. What you don't want is someone that takes 30mil less to get away from the lakers.

For Dwight, he used that to prove that "he wants to win", AKA which team can provide him a free ride to a ring. Dumb [expletive].

This could be a movie in twenty years if the Lakers somehow pulled close to a ring. It's along the lines of Moneyball and something else inspirational.

From Lakers spokesman: "We are working with Jordan to see if we can reach an agreement between him, the Lakers, and his team in Turkey."

"The plan for me was to get back to the NBA eventually regardless," Farmar said. "I really, really enjoyed my time in Israel. I thought it was a possibility that it would be exactly the same [in Turkey] and I would hop on over there and never look back and I would make good money overseas, but just being over there and staying up until 2, 3, 4 in the morning and watching every NBA game, or watching the Lakers go through what they were going through was just tough. "I missed my family, I missed being home and, ultimately, I missed being a Laker."

The deal required a significant financial sacrifice by Farmar to be completed. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound guard signed a three-year, $10.5 million deal last summer to play in the Turkish Basketball League. "They knew about my deal overseas and really didn't push it earlier because they didn't think I'd be willing to give up that guaranteed money I had over there," Farmar said in a phone interview with ESPNLosAngeles.com. "I wanted to be back in the NBA, but more importantly, back with the Lakers. This is the only situation I would have taken a minimum deal with."

Just wondering, if we land Nick Young for the Min, does anyone think that we will try to trade Blake for a pick or some young player and just go with Farmar as our backup PG?

You can't get that for Blake. Maybe a 2nd round pick in like 2-3 years but not much else at this point.

I'd take a second round pick in this years draft. He's a solid backup. I'm sure that's worth something to a few teams.

I was just throwing out the idea to see what you guys thought. If we have a backup and they're trying to cut salary to get under, trading him for a pick would be a good move.

Show case Steve Blake

I think a playoff bound team would trade their 2014 first pick in the 20-30 area for a solid backup pg

Blake has value,
Some team will want him for a playoff push

Nash also should be traded soon if the lakers are not going to contend

A first rounder in 2014 would be awesome I dont know if we could get that. Definitely a 2nd rounder though.

We probably should trade Nash to, but probably Hoping he has a much better season and it'll boost his value.

I'd take that. Blake was solid last year, but a chance to get younger in a deep draft would be hard to pass up.

Is there a highlight video specifically for Farmar's ears?
