You are all over the place man.  First off what NY lineup are you using because Chandler played in that series even though he was hurt and Hibbert still did quite well.  I hope you are not saying a frontcourt of Bosh/Bron/Battier is essentially the same as AB/Amare/Melo or even Chandler/Amare/Melo.

1.  One has Lebron who is quite versitile on defense.

2.  Bosh is much better defensive player than he's given credit for and is Dwight Howard compared to Amare

3.  Battier is the perfect defensive hatchet man.  None of the NY guys can afford to be a hatchet man b/c Chandler is needed to control the paint, Melo and Amare needed to score.

I don't remember discussing Chandler's offense.  We knw he sucks there.  The benefit to having Chandler is it allows a player like Melo who is a poor defender to play the 4 and dominate the mismatch on offense and not hurt the team so much on defense.  Miami has a bit more leeway for a small lineup b/c Lebron is an all world defensive player.

Look at how the Heat's WACK frontcourt made Hibbert look like Ewing in the paint.

Band allowed Paul George to play better by just driving into NO resistance except the occasional Bosh.

It would essentially be the same. Offensively, though, Amare and  Barganani don't have to occupy the paint, whereas Chandler is useless offensively when there are multiple guys who want to be in the post
