Steve Nash has to be feeling a little like Jamison regarding going to a championship contender. Do you think he will want out if D12 leaves and what kind of player will he be for us even healthy??

He'll be off ball and getting wide open shots all night?

Other GMs will see him for what he is-  an injury prone, almost 40, can't defend, deadly spot up shooter in the twilight of his career.  Maybe there is a market for that, but it wont command much.

He is more than a spot up shooter. Can mentor young guards.

Was averting 12/8 until Kobe became the point.

Nash would have more worth if Kobe wasnt such a bad long range shooter at times.

Well then Mitch's phone must be ringing off the hook right now ...

"Mitch, we are really coveting your starting point guard because we want a mentor to our young guys.  We are well aware that he only played 50 games last year, is a major defensive liability, is the oldest player under contract in the NBA this offseason and makes $9m a year.  But we need that mentor and shooter.  Lets make a deal.  We realize that you gave up FOUR draft picks for him and want to recoup some of that investment.  How about a first and second rounder.  Oh and we always make the POs so no need to lottery protect that first rounder ... do we have a deal?"

And with Kobe as the "point" in 15 of the last 20 games of the season he averaged around 17/5 less assists but more points.

When he was getting high assist numbers our losses were racking up as well.

I wish Nash was just gone, period.

Useless at this point in his career beyond being a spot up shooter. His mere presence on the floor makes the Lakers a much worse defensive unit.

Maybe we can get John Stockton out of retirement. He will defend better than Nash

Only some spoiled fans can deem themselves "stuck" with a point guard that averaged 17/5 in 50 of the last 20 games for the Lakers and shot 50/40/90 during the process.

You want Fisher and his 6 ppg 38% shooting again?

Didn't think so.

No, I just want someone who can defend worth a lick and hit a shot every once in awhile.

A lot of teams would like Nash actually. Certain teams have guards who can do all the things Nash can't (run, jump, defend in theory), but don't contribute to wins because they brick so many damn shots.

It's like how Sessions is a perennial scrub despite his tools.

Nash is a GREAt shooter, he makes his buckets.

What was our record with Nash and without Nash?

And I think people are unrealistic if they thought Nash was a negative for us this season.

When he came and Duhon lsat down, we got better by a big margin. Then dwight got heealthier and kobe switched his style up, .

we have to play a Phil Jackson style, Nash fits more than comfortably in that role, at 13 ppg and .497 FG% and over 40% from 3 and people COMPLAIN.

so you want Phil, but you don't want a point guard that plays the game the way wants to, and one who can do more when Kobe sits.hmmm

Do we have pre-season threads when we saw Nash play prior to his injury because all I remember is Sports talk radio drooling over his awareness and skills.

How he was making Sacre look like a mini- Gortat.

That was with Mike Brown. I also remember Kobe and Dwight's stats being GREAT under Brown, but thats neither here nor there.

the point is Nash 's stats match up to anyone you THINK is really good.

Of course not ELITE PGs like Rondo,Cp3 and Westbrook, but all those other ones, especially ones who have other scoring options(Not someone like Jrue Holiday or Jennings)

I guess their issue might be the 23 and 10 he may give up every night. I personally like Nash
