High energy guy off the bench...something we lack on the perimeter.  He would have been a decent acquisition.

Would prefer other options, but for VM I wouldnt mind. More of a backup plan if other player pursuits fail.

I'd bring him back for vet min, I liked his game. I don't like his personality and attitude though.

If he's getting offers from the Clippers too, he'd stay with them, better looking scenario for winning.

When he was with the Lakers he got bit by the injury bug. I always appreciated his energy and like that mean streak. I think he showed with the Clips last season he could be a big help for the bench which is what we're always lacking....I think hell re-sign with the Clips but again we will see

idk , on the fence with that one. I love what he brings, the effort,  toughness, the common sense to dive when a guy turns his head.

but he has been pretty injury plagued for the lakers and is no spring chicken.

still, i doubt they can afford a better shooting wing defender. barnes is also a good example when on the floor.  many players in the league need to study that guy.

Abdul-Jabbar told the San Francisco Chronicle last month he met Howard only once and that Howard expressed an interest in learning from the former Lakers captain but he never again reached out to Abdul-Jabbar.

‘He’s charming, he’s charismatic, very nice young man,’ Abdul-Jabbar said. ‘Maturity-wise, he doesn’t get it.’

What's the Clippers' stance on resigning him?

Why is the lakers consider hometown discount when he is a clipper?  Is he considering hometown as Los Angeles as a whole?

MDA is an offensive genius. I hope he sticks to his guns and keeps doing what he does best: Run and Gun. That's the only way to coach.

I'd take him back.

Him and Hill would be two energy guys off the bench. Not bad.

Another thing of note...

Amnestying MWP (>$7M) gets us underneath the lux tax apron (takes our current salary down to around $70M - lux tax apron is around $74M IIRC) that prevents us from executing trades that require the free agent to S&T...

Technically, IIRC, we can trade Pau for Josh Smith NOW as long as Josh Smith accepts a contract that is approximately $4M less than Pau's...which would keep us UNDER the $74M tax apron...

Just food for thought...

Not clear whether the hometown discount applies to us or the Clippers.
