If this does happen.

This will be the best news heard so far.

Someone who blasted MDA in television to join his staff,

Trade for Austin Rivers, say, Hill & Johnson.

It already is despite not being official. Just hearing the prospect itself & from the best source possible instantly raises excitement & optimism.

Gotta' love it indeed.

Unrelated subject... but does anyone think that Rambis coming here could also mean that we could be hearing interest from Kevin Love?

Just a thought.   Probably completely unrelated though.

jus sayin....

That rumor has been around for a while though. Unfortunately it falls back into place with what can the Lakers offer Minny for him. We have little picks, and Gasol wouldn't sway them at all, although Rubio is Spanish but that's not really much of an edge.

And so you'll have Rambis working with potentially Dwight Howard as well as Ryan Kelly?

And Madsen working with Jordan Hill?

Great move by the front office if it happens.

^ Rambis could do some serious wonders for R. Kelly. I hope to see it.

So if Ryan Kelly was Phil Jackson's pick, and they are looking into hiring Kurt Rambis... Hmm... The puzzle pieces are falling in place, slowly.

If Kurt joins the staff, maybe he can recruit the free agents that played under him in Minnesota. :D

Al Jefferson

Corey Brewer

Martell Webster

This is actually what I had initially thought of first, namely Jefferson. But along the line of D12 insurance if he leaves.

This is the best thing I've heard in a while.

Kurt did wonders for the Lakers defensive game. Hope this goes through.

LeBron James will NOT leave the Miami Heat.

I am sure all these guys are in a hurry to relive the success they had under Kurt Rambis.

If MDA still remains head coach .. not sure how effective Rambis will be. Especially if D12 is gone.

Rambis was one of the most articulate analysts on TWC Lakers network.

If only Lakers can take Dave Miller in the coaching staff as well.

We will then not have to hear him speak during Laker games. And that should be a huge plus in the coming season.

Hire Phil. Make him assistant gm, owner, boss, whatever it takes.

You bring in Phil, you keep Dwight. Simple as that. Jim Buss, if there's something you should have learned under Dr Buss, is that putting egos aside, wins you championships. Phil's been a great philosopher on that and his resume is self explanatory.

I think guys are putting way too much thought into this.  Nothing wrong with having a diverse coaching staff.  If they can combine some elements and strengths of both philosophies then it can help the team a lot.
