Morris and Goudelock will likely play, Ryan Kelly said he "may" but it depends on what the doctors say and how Mitch feels as well as himself.

(The Doctors have cleared him 2 weeks ahead of schedule for basketball activities and say his foot should be indefinitely healthy but Mitch doesn't want him to rush back when they have months till training camp)

Elias Harris could have been a first round pick after his first season at Gonzaga. Instead he decided to return, three times, to become one of the greatest Zags ever.

He also played for the German National team back in 2010

Thanks, Majesty.

Nice to see the Lakers looking into a possible good/cheap wing.

Read somewhere on Twitter from one of the Lakers reporters that Kelly will sit out the summer league to continue his rehab.

Nice safe bet then.

last thing we'd want is for him to return too soon and go down in summer league of all places.

The positive thing I heard is that he according to his doctors is that he won't have any more foot problems.

So not returning too soon I think is important especially if he's only a week away from the scheduled recovery time.  Even if he's cleared, taking that extra week or 2 could help a lot more than trying to play on it and risking it.

Gotta say.. I LOVE his back to the basket game .. Love it love it LOVE it!!

here was him at the pre-draft workout on things he is working on

Averaged 14.6 in his senior season in college as well as shooting a 51% average throughout his 4 years in college.    was also good at playing the passing lanes for his position and racked in steals.

A very good pickup and with no "Ebanks" already signed he has a chance.

Wonder what RD thinks about that guy.

But thus far on our summer league roster

It's Morris
Goudelock(maybe)
Marcus Landry
Robert Sacre and Elias Harris.

That's all I know about thus far.

Thanks, Majesty.

Nice to see the Lakers looking into a possible good/cheap wing.

harris is not a wing player, he is a pf, and at 6'7 an undersized one. pretty good skills in the paint but probably not a capable sf, at least from what i have seen. i dont think he is especially fast laterally for a pf, so strictly sf to me is out of the question. also would question ball handling and shooting skills outside of the paint.

imo he's a guy that could do decently in the league at the 4 but he has to play with a ton of heart get boards like he has or better and get that perimeter shooting game up if he hasnt already.

Abdul-Jabbar told the San Francisco Chronicle last month he met Howard only once and that Howard expressed an interest in learning from the former Lakers captain but he never again reached out to Abdul-Jabbar.

‘He’s charming, he’s charismatic, very nice young man,’ Abdul-Jabbar said. ‘Maturity-wise, he doesn’t get it.’

he actually is pretty fast on the break and is capable of bringing the ball up the court and handling it.  The worry is just his ability to create shots off the dribble.

But a majority of his damage is done back to the basket where he shoots 55%.

and he was known to be a combo forward back from his Junior Year

At 6'7", 215+ pounds, Harris has a great frame. He has good length and great athleticism, which allow him to match up at Power Forward or play Small Forward. He has shown good quickness and agility for his size. He shines in transition where he routinely beats defenders up the court or with his speed and skill set, he is able to lead the break… Harris has shown his talent in a variety of ways this season.

his weakness was his perimeter game and 3 point shooting but that's not where he mainly played from.

he played mainly back to the basket to face up as well as having a post game, which as I said, he shot 55% from there and was extremely efficient so that's good to hear.   Apparently his senior year his 3 point shooting was what was so low and why his shooting percentage was 50% and that without including the 3 point shooting his field goal percentage would have been 55% from the field which is VERY nice.

So far as I know his strengths and weaknesses are as follows

Strengths:
Basketball IQ
Quickness on the break
Athleticism
Passing
Quick hands
Back to the Basket and Post game efficiency(has a very well schooled post game, rare nowadays)
Strength
Ability to bring the ball up the court
Finisher at the rim
Good at reading the defense for openings to cut through
Good at sealing his man at opportune times.

Weaknesses:
Creating a jumper off the dribble
Dribbling through traffic from the top of the key(not back to the basket in other words)

3 point shooting(though he seemed to not focus on it his senior year as in his junior year he was a 41% three point shooter although he only shot 2 per game but says he will focus on it for the NBA game)
Adjusting his game to fit that of a combo forward in the league, may have to be a Milsap type guy as in order to be a 3 I think he'll need to work on his handle a bit more.

He would fit perfectly in a Paul Milsap type of role or a role that he can play back to the basket or be found on cuts.
Would benefit from a point guard like Blake/Nash who'll find him on to the basket cuts.
And is strong enough to finish in traffic through contact
Doesn't have terribad three point shooting

Take it for what it's worth but those are my perspectives on him from what I've seen and read :)

Lakers should invite these guys the summer league since they haven't been in the NBA for a while now cause of playing overseas, been injured or other reasons.
