I'm told Brandon Jennings wants to play in a "big market." So far, his wish list includes the Lakers, Mavs, and Knicks, via source.

Being that we have nothing to really offer him and that our current situation isn't really "desirable" I think he will go to the knicks. Mavs if for some reason dwight goes there.

are Lakers allowed to sign a player in a contrac that looks similar to (1st year: Minimum, 2nd year: 10mil +, 3rd year: 10mil +)???

Cause if so might aswell lock up Jennings to give Dwight some reason to stay.

Can't S&T for him because we are above the tax apron ($4 million above luxury tax), and he's not going to take our mini-MLE of $3 million or so.

We also can't structure a contract that increases so greatly from the first year (mini-MLE) to the second (what he wants).

It's not going to happen.

One year deal? He then re-ups in '14 with our cap space? You see any player willing to do that sort of thing?

Wouldn't make sense for most players that can get money elsewhere.  Would you take that big of a pay cut for one year, knowing you still won't earn the max the following years, and risk suffering a career injury in the process and never getting paid again?  I wouldn't.

If he has a list of teams, he's definitely not going that route.

I don't see anyone doing that, too much risk for them. They want long term security and money, lets say he gets injured badly this year, no one wants to give him the money he wants ever again. It's still a business at the end of the day.

Yeah, I figured. I was just hoping some of these players still had a mega LA fan-boy in them somewhere to the point where they would actually take that sort of risk just to play for their favorite team.
