Ego and sucking up are 2 different things. When it comes down to the best franchise in sports having to succumb and ultimately beg for a dude that has no rings to play for us, that's when the Lakers appear vulnerable and weak. How sweet would it feel if you had to beg or plead for a woman to stay with you? Don't people have pride anymore? If you have to sink down as a man or woman just to get what you want is it worth it? If they don't want you, they don't want you. Pride may be a sin, but it's better than kissing ass.

he has no rings but he lead a team to the finals.  That should be enough.

Then again like I said you're the guy who downplayed his back injury. undercuts him wherever you can, and puts down Howard at any turn downplaying or not giving credit to him anywhere, not to mention you said he was fine just because he was playing and basically played off his back injury while saying he contributed nothing to our team this year and wishes we had Bynum again.

So I take your positions on Dwight with a grain of salt no offense.  I think you have something personal against him that prevents you from being objective unless its something negative when considering the things you've  said about him.  No offense.   Its your opinion after all.

I would have never thought I'd see the day that the Lakers would beg a player to stay that doesn't want to be here.  All the billboards and all the different murals make us look so desperate!!.. What are your thoughts on Jim Buss begging Dwight to stay in the most desperate way?

I'm moving this to STAY thread since this the main discussion there.

But to answer your post, it's doing whatever is possible to keep him here. Also it's not Jim Buss who did this STAY campaign, it's Jeanie Buss.

Been a fan since 88, I have never seen this from the Lakers. I'm so embarrass to be a lakers fan. Why are the lowering them selfs this much. Their acting like the girl you broke up with and turns fatel.. Not even the clippers are doing this with Chris Paul. You know what they did, fired the coach. That's something laker would do. We are turning into the clippers. Fired mda and stop this crap,

Kissing ass?

The Lakers treat their players like Kings.

Hence Kobe-More money than anyone
Pau-big ass contract
Phil was making 6 million more than any other coach.

Business wise they think Dwight is a STAR and made for LA

Kobe and Shaq were swept out of the first round their first year together too.

This is pathetic, the Lakers are the premiere franchise in this league, if not in the entire sports universe, they shouldn't beg for this clown.

Begging?

Why is this not considered courting?

And the ONLY thing that makes/made the Lakers great is our willingness to go after Big time FAs.

We weren't much in the 90s or with Phil and Kibe and Lamar. Keep it real.

If it were my team I wouldn't have done this. That said, I really doubt Dwight is going to say "WTF they put up billboards of me? I'm leaving.".

People need to relax. We look for anything to complain about. It's ridiculous.

I'd probably moon everybody if I was on the concert hall like that. Lol.

C'mon Howard, show your funny side.

"You watch anime?"

- "Yeah, I just got into it! Just recently, I just started watching Attack on Ti-"

"Get away from me, pleb."

Yet Indy had Reggie, the Knicks were poppin, the Jazz had superstars, The Suns and Sonics were better than us.

Did we even try to best the Rockets or Blazers? No?

And we lost magic and the time we played the bulls in the finals we'd lost worthy to injury.
