While Antoine Walker realizes the doubters and skeptics will heavily outweigh those willing to listen, the former Celtic insists he wants to be an NBA head coach and said he was “serious” after he tweeted three times Monday morning that he was interested in the Celtics job.

Walker, 36, a former All-Star more recently known for his well-chronicled financial issues and an unsavory and premature end to his career, said Monday night that he wants to work in the NBA and has head-coaching aspirations.

I hope the Celtics do this. Laker fans should all hope for this together.

This would be a true showing of a Celtic rebuild and/or just stupidity by the entire Celtic front office haha.

I wouldn't mind or Vinny Del Negro would be good too.

Him, and adding VDN as an assistant coach will do wonders in their rebuilding years.

So how do we know what kind of coach he is enough to assume he'd be terrible?

Maybe he's learned from his mistakes and grown as a person?  Or is that impossible nowadays? :)

^ Not impossible, but with a team and franchise like the Celtics, I doubt you take that much of a chance. If it's the Bobcats or some other crap team however, maybe, but he's gotta' prove himself first.

I'd agree, won't happen with the Celtics

It's not impossible, but no sane person would make him a head coach right off the bat. He's gotta pay his dues first.

Hah, I was thinking that.

Antonie Walker jacked up 3s and played no defense. It's pretty much the Lakers last season.
