I get the Nets with the NY appeal and a decent roster, but could've picked a better opposing team than the Hawks in London.

I actually find the Spurs vs Minny in Mexico City more interesting.

Mexico City Arena, not bad.

Rubio in Mexico will be a hit. I'm sure the NBA wishes Manu doesn't retire at least just for this event as well.

Who knows, Rubio (Spanish) probably will be perceived well, but Ginobilii (Argentinian) maybe not. Hispanics can be a fickle bunch when it comes to nationalities.

^ That is true to some extent, although I think that'd be a lot moreso the case if it were something more important & passionate to them such as futbol. Since it's basketball and there's so few hispanic & spanish speaking stars to begin with, it might be a tad different, but like you said, who knows for sure.

Yea true, I mean Gasol was so embraced by the Hispanic community at first in LA. But if it was like boxing then yea, mutiny. Basketball would be more embracing.

Nationalities are a mixed issue.
The problem with ginobili is that he is argentino and a lot of them talk trash about mexico

The problem with ginobili is that he is argentino and a lot of them talk trash about mexico

and yet there is this Argentine who may be accepted & ultimately play for the Mexican National Team. He's getting resounding support. Hypocrisy yet again?
