Lakers coach Mike D’Antoni has made the first step in filling out his coaching staff.

He has recently hired Larry Lewis as a player development coach after spending the past two seasons on the D-Fenders coaching staff, the Lakers’ Development League affiliate. The hiring was later confirmed by Lakers spokesman John Black.

Am I the only one a bit distressed over MDA still around? Lakers get swept and they let the coach stay and get a new staff; clippers lose in the first round and shoot for rivers.

This guy is going to be great.

Trade for Austin Rivers, say, Hill & Johnson.

Nice to hear he's a good development guy responsible for a lot of developing players that get a lot of D-league call ups.    Welcome to the Lakers coaching staff!   Not gonna treat him like a nobody just because he isn't a name.

If he's responsible for a a lot of D-league call ups and contributed as much as is stated here, there's no harm in having him here.

Welcome :)

Apparently he helped develop 8 D-league call ups.

All good signs if you ask me.   Can't hurt  to get him.

Now on to who the other assistant coaches will be.

The thing is he has to be more than great if he is an asisstant to D'antoni. D'antoni is superb at underdeveloping players' skills so this guy has to do a great job to even neutralize the negative effects of our coach.
