“It’s different then it was,” McGrady told USA TODAY Sports’ Alex Kennedy. “Then, when I came in ’97, you had men in the league. There’s a lot of boys in this league now. And that’s what I’ve been trying to tell guys when they’ve been asking me questions about LeBron and Jordan. I’m like, ‘Come on man, y’all can’t be serious.’ This man MJ was playing against grown men out there. There’s a lot of boys in the league right now. That seems to be the difference.”

Well granted it would hold more meaning of actual players from that era like Barkley, Mourning and Ewing actually spoke the truth instead of just maintaining popular appearances.

Still when I watch NBA games and look at the commercialization, I cannot help but think that Stern has gotten exactly what he always wanted.

But keeping it in perspective, as a whole, the NBA can only get more softer and watered down. At some point I wonder if it will appear to be like the 70's when the quality of players was just terrible the people will stop caring.

Yeah and with flopping coaches like LeBron's (Frank Calhoun), it's only getting worse.

Every guy from the past thinks his generation was better than the newer one after them. There is a reason why record get broken at the olympics every time. Its because athletes are getting faster and stronger.

Also wtf about them being boys. You basically are insulting your own team and every player in the NBA.

Seriously... at the end of the day, the top players in the NBA is the top competition in the world.  If you're at the highest level competing against the best competition possible, then what more is there?  Tracy played in between both era's and its not like hes done anything special...

Tracy McGrady seems to be talking a lot these days.

Must be that confidence he got in helping the Spurs get to the NBA Finals.

Prime T-Mac>LeBron James. No one used to scare me as much as he did when we challenged them.
