RT @ZachLowe_NBA: Don't doubt anyone's reporting on Doc/KG, but do doubt the talks are really dead. Stalled, yes. Dead, no. Dead till they're alive again.

Danny Ainge really ruined Boston. He made a great series of deals to build the 2008 team but since then he has mismanaged the Celtics. Never thought that the inevitable rebuild will come through trading Doc and KG of all people away. It looks like the Clippers have their center now, at least until he gets injured again against the MUCH harder West.

On another thought, I don't think the Spurs will be in the running for the top seed after these playoffs. If they win, Duncan and Ginobili will probably retire. Then again, I'm sure Pop and the Spurs FO will figure something out.

It's a shame when you see teams like the CLIPPERS actively making moves to improve after a loss. The Lakers front office is trying desperately to justify their hiring of MDA when he's the epitome of mediocrity and unprofessional coaching. MDA just casts a dark shadow over all of LA. When we win, it's bittersweet because it reinforces Mitch and Jim's pathetic thinking that MDA is actually competent. When we lose, it's painful no matter what.

Makes sense. Besides Bledsoe, the Clippers really weren't offering anything that the Celtics want. I don't think the Celtics wanted DeAndre Jordan by himself, a big man who has no fundamentals whatsoever. Stingy as always.

Sources confirm: Talks between Boston and Clippers have failed to result in a deal. Clippers moving on.

Again: Clippers source reiterates team is definitely not trading Blake Griffin.

Clippers hosting interviews with Byron Scott today and Brian Shaw tomorrow.

Just like many have said on Twitter this morning, the Clippers gonna clip.

Walking away over a rumored extra draft pick is ridiculous.  When you have a good team, draft picks don't matter (unless you're the Lakers who give up multiple for a 39 year old point guard).

This was a good deal for them.  You get rid of dead weight in DeAndre Jordan, replace him with a winner in Kevin Garnett and get a great coach in Doc Rivers.

Clippers refused to give additional 1st-round pick, but ultimately $35M extension for Rivers and $3M-plus Jordan trade kicker played part.

Danny Ainge has called Doc Rivers to tell him that talks are done, sources tell Y! Sports. Ainge told him he still wants him as coach.

This is why they're the Clippers.

Afraid to swing for the fences. What a bunch of idiots. I hope they're ready to wave goodbye to Chris Paul.

So Sterling wasn't willing to pay a coach big bucks after all? How incredibly shocking.

How will Celtic players respond to Doc now when he preaches absolute loyalty & what not? The guy was just about to leave them for good. It was more serious than just some innocent flirtation.

Don't think anyone is surprised.

But it's worse than I thought it'd be.

They don't want to give up first round picks to get Rivers and Garnett to replace Jordan?

And the Clippers felt getting Doc and Garnett for Jordan and draft picks was being "taken advantage of"?!?!!??

That's stupid.    That's...Clipper!!!

I've always liked Steve Blake.
