I bet KG can't do this:

No. but "that" doesn't win championships when you can't play in the 4th quarter.

Since the NBA is going to accept the compensation agreement (which includes the part about KG not being sent to the Clippers, from Boston), there's a workaround.  The league would suspect something, though, but wouldn't be able to prove anything from it.

Boston can simply trade Garnett to another team who is interested in DeAndre Jordan, and then that team can immediately deal Garnett to the Clips for DeAndre in a two-player deal.

Sneaky, but also

Provision in Doc's deal does appear to create wiggle room for Pierce or KG to join Clips if they get bought out & hit free agency. But ...

But NBA is not yet addressing such hypotheticals, suggesting that a down-the-road signing of Pierce or KG w/Clips would have to be looked at

Only see Pierce getting bought out because it actually saves the Celtics money.  Would be hard for the league to prove that it's part of the Doc Rivers deal because it helps the Celtics financially AND the league would be pushing it's boundaries by blocking a free agent decision.

Garnett won't get bought out because that doesn't help the Celtics at all.  They'll be on the hook for his salary while they continue to rebuild, doesn't make sense.

Plus, in the original deal Pierce wasn't included

Exactly.  Pierce to the Clippers was already being rumored far before the Doc Rivers stuff came up.

Haha the funny part is this could have all been avoided, but it's the Clippers.

Trade for Garnett and sweeten the deal by throwing in the pick that you tried to hold into for so long.

Before doing the deal, have Boston agree to let Rivers go.

Does that not work? They raised too many suspicions by dragging this out so long.

All the stuff that leaked hurt.

I mean it's a reason this "deal" is unprecented.

Let's not be fools.

The Rockets will do deals will the Celtics if it helps that team(Kev McHale), and now we have a CELTIC in LA, just to make our exisstence hell. I hate this, and I'm GLAD they are blocking Pierce and KG from coming.

Garnett wold actually be great with the Cavs, like in this upcoming year, that would actually be a 5/6 team with a healthy Kyrie and Waiters improving and andy healthy as well, with maybe trade your number one pick for  Rudy Gay. Boom.

Does that team not look like a scary team?

I know I lot of people think Gay is overrated(though I think they MEAN overpaid).

I think he is top 10 at his position and with Kyrie and Garnett, and Mike Brown's East Coast style of play. I REALLY think they should pursue that if possible

The Proverb is so accurate- better to be thought of as a fool than open your mouth and prove it.  Lots of evidence of that in this thread.

The NBA: Where you can legally trade coaches but not all-star point guards.

Since they're not Celtics anymore, could the Clippers even legally attempt or try to trade for Garnett or Pierce now if they wanted to?

^ I don't expect it to even be entertained really, but I was just curious if it would even be considered legal now if they even wanted to try. Haven't had it answered.

Clippers president and coach Doc Rivers' extension will be worth more than $50 million over five years, league sources tell Yahoo Sports.

Lol thanks for setting a ridiculous precedent, Doc. It's only a matter of time before this president/coach deal becomes the norm.
