Wait so they AREN'T getting KG or Pierce?

Meh... would have sweetened the deal for the Clippers.

Doc is gonna ask things of them that I'm not sure Deandre Jordan or Blake Griffin can do defensively.

Doc is gonna preach different types of rotations and post play especially from Griffin whom he'll ask to expand his game.  They aren't gonna be the Run N Gun Clippers with Doc as their coach which is good cause they'd play like more of a complete team.   But at the same time the question becomes can Blake Griffin and Deandre Jordan do what Doc requires of them and how far can the Clippers go when Blake Griffin is STILL the second option on the team behind CP3?

We'll have to wait and see.

[expletive] it there are no more rules anymore. Lets sign players for min they pay them on the side. Then we can also pay refs. I mean rules dont matter right?

This was within rules

It would of been against the rules. That is why they are trying to do it as 2 separate deals from my understanding.

If Griffin and Jordan were at times odds with the demands from CP3, then an intense coach like Doc is really gonna go after them to play defense and rebound.

I really don't think Griffin and Jordan will respond well, all they care are for highlights.

I'm surprised companies like Nike, Adidas, etc haven't told players to go to big markets and they'll make up the difference in pay if they have to take a pay cut

Boston will waive them both and the Clippers will then sign them. Simple.

They could make that deal/agreement under the table/without the league knowing other than Obama & NSA of course, & then if they don't have enough money to adequately sign both at a price or contract they'd like, again, pay em' under the table. There are sometimes ways to work around rules, you just gotta' have the balls and be on top of your game at all times.

If they are waive teams with cap get to bid on them first

Also the NBA wouldn't allow it because they will see it as conspiracy

If anything KG will probably go to Miami if he clears waivers, or San Antonio and pierce would probably go to San Antonio

How is that even possible if San Antonio's already there?

Can't do that

In the words of KG himself:

If KG believes it, I believe it.

They can get Pierce since he wasn't part of the original deal

  1. I can only say from my perspective-but I think Dwight Howard is noticing what's happening for CP3 and what's not happening for him with LAL

  2. ...PP is waived & decides to sign in LA, that's HIS choice, which is good argument agaist the deals being contingent. @EricPincus

100% truth.

This pisses me off. And I'm just a fan.

Can't imagine how Dwight feels.

Buffalo Bill it rubs the lotion on its skin Simmons weighs in:

Bill Simmons @BillSimmons

Celts saved 21 mill, lost a coach who had already quit on them + picked up an unprotected future 1st from a crazy franchise. Nice day.

Bill Simmons @BillSimmons

Celts did a nice job of pretending this weekend that Doc might go back there (for leverage w/ Clips). No way Wyc was taking him back. None.

Bill Simmons @BillSimmons

Last point: DeAndre Jordan isn't an asset. He's badly overpaid. I'd rather have KG for 2 more years. He has trade value, DeAndre doesn't.

Bill Simmons @BillSimmons

Forgot: this was a terrific trade for the Clips. They couldn't risk losing CP. Had to get Doc. He's a top-5 coach, he'll be motivated too.

I honestly don't think they'll let pierce go to LA either. Any Boston player can be argued as under the table.

This is a peculiar situation where the league stepped in because two teams were trying to pull a fast one on the league

I don't think the league lets any current celtics players go to the clippers

But that's just my opinion

LOL. I'm just saying that the Celtics were planning on releasing him even before this whole trade talk
