I wish we would get rid of D'Antoni or that he'd at least have the common decency to resign.

Neither is happening sadly. I don't really don't know what direction we are headed to be honest. I know for a fact that [expletive] is gonna be way different in a year. I'm just gonna enjoy the ride the best I can lol.

If one assistant coach is hired which is said to be happening quite soon he's staying. They would never let him hire an assistant if they knew they might get rid of him.

Neither McMillen  or Gentry are hired yet and their name hasn't been in coaching rumors or interest for the last few weeks.  if they were to be hired it would have happened by now, only Gentry has gotten any interest lately.

Mitch said they were waiting on someone who could head coach in the league but was waiting to see if said people would get the head coaching jobs they want and then offering them jobs as assistants.

If it was Nate or Gentry they'd be hired by now.  Shaw is the guy they're waiting on.  It's not coincidence that Mitch and Phil had a meeting talking about the guy about 2 weeks ago, nor is it coincidence that Phil constantly talks about a way of fixing the Lakers would be to bring Shaw in.  You know as "consultant" those words have come up a LOT in the meetings that him and Mitch have had.

How certain are you? Do you really possess that much faith in Jimmy?

Doc is a good coach, not a great one. It's a good hire but I'm not worried. If the lakers do what they need to it won't be an issue

Clips still have no #2 option or low post threat

His nonexistent ego begs to differ.

David Stern should have retired 20 years ago.

Hollins is the favorite for the Nuggets job, Karl is the favorite for the Grizzlies job.

The Lakers are actively "waiting" on Shaw to see if he gets a job or not, and have Phil Jackson as a consultant with which they talk about Shaw and Mitch has been dropping hints about him.   And the worst coach in the league was just fired by the Clippers.

VDN is not worse than MDA, or "MA." Antoni has been taking very talented teams, and running them into the ground. The fact that the Knicks and Lakers actually MADE the playoffs when they did under him, was pretty much miraculous in both cases.

^Maybe it will actually help us feel better knowing that our front office will now feel more pressured to get rid of MDA. And it could very well happen. I don't think anyone thought brown would get fired only 4 games into the season. Pull the trigger Mitch. Shaw, McMillan, whoever just get it done.

There is no way in hell Jim Buss is going to be ok with this. One thing I do know for a fact is that Jim is passionate about the Lakers. He is going to get rid of MDA. It's a matter of when.

I won't worry till the off-season ends and we're the same or worse team we were and are right now with no moves that help us at all or/and if Dwight leaves.

Till then I applaud the Clippers on a great coaching decision.  But I'm not worried till I see what our moves are or are not.

Good on the Clippers though, they finally got the decision right.  First strike by them.

They didn't trade. Celtics just received compensation.

Good move by the Clippers to hire Doc, shocked Stern allowed it.

CP3 is definitely going back there.

This effectively eliminates the Hawks in the Dwight sweepstakes and puts a damper on Houston who was more willing to S&T Dwight but wanted to "pay" CP3 first though they still are the competition.

Fans said that after they hired Mike Brown, and before they signed Steve Nash and Dwight Howard.

Sucks to have to wait on what Dwight decides as he wants to be courted while CP3 doesn't but that is what it is.  We probably won't hear any other moves till around the beginning to middle of the first week of July as far as the Lakers go.

If Dwight re-signs then news is gonna start flooding in on our "moves" coming in.   But it doesn't start till Dwight re-signs sadly.

I'm not, doc isn't that good of a coach. He wasnt even the best coach on his staff in 2008

How difficult is it to win with thibs as your defensive coach and a just out of prime KG, pierce, Allen, and young rondo and pre knee injury Perkins

I've never thought he was a great coach, so this has nothing to do with him going to the clippers

The clippers roster isn't even half of what those Boston rosters were and he doesn't even have the coach that made his roster tick

He is a good coach, he improves them, but he's not Phil, pop, or Riley. Who can elevate flawed rosters
