Ewing told Patrick that he joined Georgetown in part because of an unpleasant experience while on a recruiting trip at Chapel Hill.

North Carolina was a very good school. But when I went down there they put me in that Carolina Inn, and there was a big Ku Klux Klan Rally in North Carolina when I was there. And I’m like, “You know what? I’m not comin’ down here.”

FULL ARTICLE inside link.

He could've joined a team that already had Jordan along with our own big game James Worthy & Sam Perkins.

Sometimes you can kinda make sarcastic comedy out of a horrific situation, but in reality, it still doesn't change just how real & horrific it must've been. It can equate to some sort of defense mechanism in some instances.

crazy...

i thought the KKK was like bigfoot... or the loch ness monster (not really, of course the KKK is real)

i guess i never lived anywhere where they had a force...i have met the occasional knuckle head, that liked Nazis, or the KKK, or were just generally spouting rascist crap, but... its not like anyone really takes them seriously...

I remember people used to say, "USA is way too racist to ever have a black president"

and i always thought that was complete BS, and thought eventually a black candidate would be the best choice...

I have always thought the whole racism thing was a bit over blown...

I felt like we got past that as a world...

what do you mean?

They're still around.

lmao...for someone who has posted as many articles surrounding race as you do, it amazes me how clueless you are about the other side of it

KKK like bigfoot?  seriously?

there are establishments in parts of this country that will not serve me because i'm black...FACT

we've progressed, and come a long away, but the problem is FAR from being past us
