Wasn't the movie based off a comic.......

but the comic was based of the actual battle

Around 2,000 by historical scholar estimates, although roughly 300 were Spartans purely so that is where the 'romanticism' of this battle comes from. It is like hundred of years from now, movies and books will recollect a World War story on how the US stood against evil empires by itself without any help, completely omitting the Soviet Union, Canada, China, and the other Western European countries.....MURICA'.

The Battle of Thermopylae (or however it is spelled) yes, the war would eventually go to the Greeks. I've never been able to meet someone that has told me why this particular battle has gained so much historical fame (and inaccuracies).

Wow, not even some of the supposedly great Eva Green scenes could save it from being the "worst" of the year for you? Damn.

^ You should. Trust me, a lot of people including myself felt exactly the way you do, but for those (which were many) who ultimately DID decide to keep going on, I guarantee you hardly any of them regretted it at all. It should only take you a few episodes or so max to transition to get past it enough to enjoy the show again. I highly recommend it man as I know many others here do as well.

I wish HBO would make another rome series. Not many battles in that show but the politics and back stabing were awesome
