Horry never one to mince words, said “Dwight wouldn’t stand a chance.”

Dwight would have no chance [against Olajuwon]. Howard is a good player, but his offensive skills are limited. He only has the Georgetown hook, a couple of spins in the baseline… Dwight is a great player, but there are things certain players can and can’t do, and Hakeem could do a lot.

^ Right and he should know better. Sometimes when things are so obvious they are better off without mentioning. In this case even more though, considering Horry works for the Lakers (in a way) and Dwight could hear these comments and not be too happy, especially knowing how sensitive he is.

Right now, the Lakers have to act as nice to Dwight as possible. They have to literally kiss his arse. If they truly wanna' keep him, they cannot afford negativity towards him coming out. They've got to try & control as much as they can.

Most centers in league history wouldn't stand a chance against The Dream.

Hakeem gave a prime Shaq all the trouble in the world in his prime, and vice versa.  So of course, Hakeem was a marvel that ANY center in any era would have struggled to match up with.

Offensively speaking, Dwight did not progress at all since 2009. As Charles Barkley said, we all thought he had reached only 50% of his potential at that point.  The reality is, he may already be at 100% of what he is capable of doing.  Nearly everytime he had to create a shot for himself, he would lose the ball.

I was rooting for Dwight Howard to LA for years, but I have to admit the man has no offensive game.

^ No offensive game is a tad too harsh. He has at least some basic moves more or less, give him credit, but yes, it's clearly obvious he's always relied on his freak athleticism more than anything combined with massive power to succeed & sadly, last season, he never seemed to have that (particularly the athleticsm aspect) to the level everyone was accustomed to seeing him have as a non-Laker.

Yeah you're right, no offensive game is too harsh.  I guess I'm just salty because he was a let down and I am confident he's leaving as well.  I think he is under the impression he is on Shaq or Olajuwan's level, he truly believes he can take a team to a title but he doesn't possess that type of offense in my opinion.

Shaq was not in his prime in ORL when he faced him in the championship.
