Could be yet another 3PT sniper for them. Wouldn't have to play a lot of minutes. Could have a Derek Fisher-like role imo at this point in his career. He's an unrestricted free agent fyi.

“Of course, I would have interest in Miami, of course,’’ Billups told FOX Sports Florida…

“Absolutely, I could help them,’’ Billups said before the Heat faced San Antonio after having lost the Finals opener last Thursday.

By the way, I know he already has a ring, but still, the ring chaser tag still applies.

^ That's arguably fair, but to me, it still applies to any super old player at the end of their career just trying to hop on to a championship team contributing or playing very little and being gifted one rather easily. Why did Juwan Howard come back?

He never won a championship before last year,

He's ring chasing. Same exact label we gave Shaq when he went to Cleveland and Boston.

A ring chaster is a ringer chaser... Doesn't matter if he already has a ring.

C'mon man... This is ridiculous, every old washed up perimeter player is going to Miami. Pretty soon Reggie Miller is gonna come outta retirement.

let them have old perimeter players, it actually lessons their chances of winning once they are depended on to do more than that in playoff situations/

This is what happens when you win though.

Players do this with every winning team (a.k.a Mitch Richmond and John Salley on the Lakers).  There's no need to rip on teams or players for it.  The ring is what it's about.  Unfortunately some players (not Chauncey however) don't realize it until its too late.

Winning first, everything else second.  I wouldn't blame Chauncey one bit.  He's a great person and one guy I would like to see have a ring before his time is up.

Would be nice... but then part of me still remembers what him and Rip did to us in 2004     But I can't hate on his game, he was a very underappreciated player and that team was astounding to watch how everything clicked.

That wouldn't have happened if both Horace Grant and Karl Malone weren't hurt.  Once they went down and there was no front court aside from a supremely pouty and lazy Shaq, it wasn't gonna happen no matter who the Lakers played.

Chauncey is one of the few guys in the NBA I wish nothing but success for.
