Vivek Ranadive's interest in Larry Bird to run basketball operations has been well known since he took control of the Kings.

According to longtime NBA writer Peter Vecsey, Ranadive is meeting with Bird today.

Bird is the biggest name of the known candidates to replace Geoff Petrie. Chris Mullin, Mike Dunleavy, Chris Wallace and Travis Schlenk are also candidates.

Certainly one of the better great players to become front office. I know he was the main guy behind acquiring Hibbert pick when other staff members were skeptical, supported drafting Hansborough even with all the naysayers, and went after David West immediately. I'd be surprised if he joined them though.
