I don't care about being an All-Star, I care about a player being a consistent and strong mental and physical contributor to the team.

Concentrate on that first.

wouldn't he need to achieve all that first in order to be an all-star though?

He has the potential. But he is not a consistent contributor.

But good for him if he keeps working hard on his game .. and maybe some course on public speaking.

His interviews were brutal to listen to

No its not the same thing.

Going into a season concentrating on being an "All-Star", and you know he means being on the chosen All-Star team, is the wrong way to go about your career and a shining example of how not to approach a season.  Work on your game, strengthen your weaknesses, accolades and All-Star teams will come after you work hard on contributing to the team effort first.

The All-Star game is a poorly chosen popularity contest that holds no bearing on how much a player contributes to a team.

There is a stark difference.

Nobody here is overrating him, we are just happy to see that he WANTS to be it. I don't think you would like it if he said "#averageroleplayer instead of #allstar".

Fido- let that MAN say what he wants.

It's not like he is a JR smith type who jacks up shots that should belong to one of our stars.

He wants rebounds, open shots and hustle plays.

He can be a Shawn Marion type

Earl at 6'10 has a very good skill set. All star maybe a reach. But if he could average 16 and 8 as a small foward that would be deadly.

Wrong, yes it is a popularity contest for the big name players (like Ama're) but you have to be consistent to be a bench player in the All-Star game

You can't necessary say that. Lets say (Hypothetically)   a team offers Clark the max do you really think he'll stay with the Lakers?

I am sorry, but I can't stop laughing at the idea of a team giving Clark the max.

Then let's say Chris Paul signs for the mMLE and Josh Smith signs for the vets minimum along with OJ Mayo to join the Lakers.

Totally different. Paul is not a 3rd year player like Clark is
