Well Earl Clark wants to be a Laker that much is clear, and he wants to work on his game and his conditioning this summer and has a goal next year of being an all-star level player for the Lakers.

Whether we agree or disagree on that being a possibility, it's nice to know he's working towards that goal, he's super talented, if he is consistent with us next year then he'll be fine even if it's not an all-star level but it's nice he is reaching toward that goal.

Clark seems to have enjoyed his time in LA and wants to stay, even if it means he will make less money. “It’s not always about the money,” said Clark in an interview this week. “You could go somewhere with more money and be in a bad situation. I’m not trying to do that.”The 25-year old power forward took to his Instagram Friday saying, "Feels so good to be bak #all-star season that's my word" along with this picture.

I like the confidence though. Hope he stays a Laker.

Not going to happen obviously. Even if he does magically average 17 and 8 next season, he won't be selected because players need to be established at that level for at least two years. Hopefully he can give us around 10 and 6 instead, and some jump shooting if he works on that enough this summer.

hey if he somehow averaged 17 and 8 next season I won't mind if he was made an all-star or not I'd just be happy at the wins rolling in :D

One thing Clark has beyond potential is that he showed what he can produce, he hit a bit of a wall because he never had to play those type of minutes before and he wore down.  But now that he's gonna be preparing for that over the summer I think him and his defense is something that's very needed.  He already has a good foundation for defense and can be asked to defend multiple positions.

I think he could be like a poor man's Iggy for us if he reaches his peak and I wouldn't mind that in the least and he'd come cheap.  Heck even if he was a 15/7/3 player for us I wouldn't mind in the least.  We could use that kind of production and youth on the team especially as he wants to come back NO MATTER the price or role.

Kid wants to be a Laker and is very talented, we wouldn't need to go get a Donnel Wright or people like that if we can sign Clark for cheap which is what he wants.

Imo if we DON'T re-sign Clark that's on the front office, the guy WANTS to be here badly.   I think it's apparent by now he likely isn't gonna pull an Ariza.  I hope I'm right on that.  But all signs point to him wanting to stay no matter the price or role, long as his jersey says "Lakers" on it that's all that seems to matter to him

If he's in the gym working like DMo I could see alot of improvement.  Unfortunately most of his INSTAGRAM pictures imply otherwise.

Dude has both the potential and skillset to be a solid player for the Lakers.

I don't care about being an All-Star, I care about a player being a consistent and strong mental and physical contributor to the team.

Concentrate on that first.

Isn't that what an All-Star is? being consistent all year around and a physical contributor?
