It's a Shayamalan movie? No wonder it bombed. I still can't believe studios fund this guy.

Enemy of the state has to be my favorite WS movie. It's still relevant today.

A prequel to a blatant rip-off of a movie (see: Omega Man) that was so, so poorly acted, directed and executed in post - whoopee.

Kinda surprised that there is a lot of hate towards Will Smith, majority of people I meet like him maybe its because I live in Philly. He has a bunch of movies that I thought were pretty good. Also who can hate on fresh prince of bel-air?

Well yea he's a Philly native and I think owns like a percent of the 76ers (hopefully more than Jay Z's amount). Outside of Philly and well at this point lukewarm.

As for his acting, I'd say pretty good to be honest, definitely enjoyed Ali and Pursuit of Happyness, Bad Boys was great when it came out. He isn't meant to be a critically acclaimed actor, he's just a big name that has made successful movies. As for M. Night, I really did like Sixth Sense but I can understand why people think it is overrated, The Village was good beacuse I already knew the premise so it actually made it more interesting. NOt much interesst afterwards.

Will Smith isn't doing himself any favors by being a nepotist. I don't buy the giving up, his shining star has taken some hits rececently, with Jada troubles and MIB3 bomb. He better be pushing for a Hancock sequel at this point.

I understand  everyone talking about nepotism, but lets be honest here guys if you were a big actor and your son showed the same liking that you did towards your field I think you would do what is in your power to get him the most help.

I do agree that some of his recent stuff has been not so good, he isnt an amazing actor that can flourish in every role he is fit for certain roles and when put into them he does a good job.

The Pursuit of Happyness is good but I don't know if it's THAT good.

I didn't list Ali because I've only seen bits and pieces of it. I don't remember being too impressed by Enemy of the State and I didn't want to list it because I haven't seen it in a really long time.

Just went to see After Earth when I wasn't half asleep cause of midnight.

So I was able to focus completely today.

And honestly.... I loved it.   Took my mom and dad to see it as well, and mom of course cried at many parts but she was gripped by it and my dad who is the harshest critic I know even liked it.

I loved it.

Most critics I see of this film say "Will's character isn't very charismatic and isn't the Will Smith we're used to seeing."

That's because it's not his character, Will's character in this movie is cold, and a man devoid of fear, as well as being military and numb and was distanced from his son growing up because of his military career.   So their awkward moments when they are trying to find their chemistry works as intended because it isn't there right away, but as their bond strengthens, so does their chemistry.

Took me a moment to get past the "space accents" which are somewhere between Jamaican, African and British.

But once I did, I enjoyed every moment, couple of tear jerking moments as well and I loved the climax.

This movie ranks behind the Sixth Sense in over all impact of an era, but to be completely honest I enjoyed it MUCH more than I enjoyed the Sixth Sense.

One of the better movies I've seen this year and if I could afford it I'd go and see it again :)   My two cents anyway.

Believe it or not, I enjoy The Fresh Prince of Belair. It has its moments and is also a good family show.

I liked Seven Pounds, Pursuit of Happyness, and didn't mind Bad Boys. I didn't care for Hancock, that was a let down.

Not even for Miss Theron?

May have been the only reason I kept watching. Certain aspects were a rehash of the classic Superman -- it wasn't too great compared to some of his other works that I did enjoy.
