its about time.  He should've retired two years ago.

MDA is an offensive genius. I hope he sticks to his guns and keeps doing what he does best: Run and Gun. That's the only way to coach.

Kind of sad to see him retire. I grew up watching him, Kobe and Garnett. Can't believe these guys are 1 by 1 leaving the NBA. It was like 2 seasons ago where he won his NBA title.

A pleasure to watch Kidd throughout the years. He deserves the HOF at some point and even though he may have hung on a season or two too long, you can't argue that he was an elite PG in the game for over a decade. He was underrated. My most memorable and fav moment of Kidd was when Kidd took the Nets from being a doormat in the NBA to Championship contenders and they went to the finals his first and second year there. but... I was happy when he finally got that ring he deserved it. Great career! Have a great retirement you deserve it. One of my all time fav PG.

So close to becoming a Laker at certain points.

Great career indeed and very classy dude.

Kidd is no doubt a first class HOFer. Second all time in assists and steals.

1) Magic Johnson

2) Oscar Robertson

3) John Stockton

4) Isiah Thomas

5) Walt Frazier

6) Jason Kidd

Just outside of the top five greatest PG's of all time, but that's a pretty damn good list.  Kidd was a complete player, although he did have trouble shooting the ball at times (not talking about recently, we know that), which is really the only reason why he's out of the five.

Sadly, people believe that Steve Nash should be ranked above him.  I'm sorry, but aside from shoot the ball, Kidd can do everything Nash can do, AND everything he can't.

^ I agree with that list. He Didn't know how to shoot but still got you 12-18 points a game. Complete player and one of the all time great point guards to ever play

Well, I don't know...he knew how to shoot, but he really had to be wide open.  Hell, he shot threes VERY well, had range to 23-24 feet...one of the all-time greatest three-point shooters ever.  Thing is, when he got inside of the arc, and shots were contested better, he would miss them.

well yea I miss-worded that, I didn't mean he couldn't shoot or didn't know how to because he could shoot (crazy to say he didn;t know how to)  He just had trouble making tough shots, contested ones or with someone nearby. He had trouble making shots but he still got ya 12-18 points that is what i meant  So my bad,  yea i agree he was one of those players that had to be wide open to make a shot and that is what you're supposed to do when its a wide open shot make them. He did needed work though on his form a little. He was a decent three point shooter though. He was damn sure hitting those three's and jumpers when he was wide open though
