Times are indeed changing. Its a small window in my opinion, but that's really all you can say about it.

What's offensive is ESPN and other outlets saying he used a slur.

"Homo" is short for homosexual.  It's not a slur.   It just isn't.  It's not anymore of a slur than saying "gay".

This is stupid, and highlights problems with political correctness.  Logic goes completely out the window and everything becomes an insult.  People quit thinking for themselves.   What I especially hated about ESPN's headline/article, is that they didn't even say what Hibbert said, other than saying that he said, "no homo."  No context whatsoever.

What Hibbert was guilty of was using innuendo.  "Stretched out" was the phrase he was insinuating could be taken as a sexual reference, and since the game was played by all men, he added, "no homo."   Not a slur.  Not a slam on gays.    Innapropriate innuendo?  Sure.  But not a gay slur.

Perhaps what is needed is a ban on all sexual talk.  Including discussion of being gay.  Frankly, I find Jason Collins talking about the fact that he likes sex with men to be much more offensive than Roy Hibbert saying he doesn't.

Yes, and that comes off as dishonest, unprofessional, & biased, though sadly once again, it's not a surprise.

Absolutely. "no homo" is just another quick way of saying I'm straight, big deal.

Excessive fine.....but saying "no homo" is so stupid. Honestly don't get why people say it.
