Well that's dumb.   Coach wasn't that teams problem.

Adrian Wojnarowski         @WojYahooNBA

Memphis has given permission to coach Lionel Hollins to speak to other teams, league source tells Y! Sports.

What is Memphis doing?

True, he didnt have the weapons to deal with the spurs. However, he was out coached by pop, then again most coaches always are.

I still feel like if the Lakers had a healthy Kobe, we would be in the Western Conference finals right now... The team was actually looking good until the achilles /:

That would have been great, but we had more injuries than Kobe unfortunately. Hopefully that will be the case next season if the Lakers are healthy for the most part. A long off-season might be a blessing in disguise. Kobe, Pau, and Nash seem to be doing well in their recoveries; think of it as a total reboot. If Dwight resigns, he will be in top shape for the start of next season as well.

A defensive minded caoch who 'tries' to utilize bigs as best as possible and is rather old fashioned in his coaching style. Plenty of teams are jumping at the opportunity.

He should go to the Clippers or Brooklyn. More talent & depth on both those teams overall than in Memphis. They just need his toughness, defensive mentality, & true passion instilled in them.

I think his style wouldn't work with Clips, Griffin and Jordan weren't too fond of Paul's strictness, now imagine a gritty coach who expects tough physical, rebounding play from his bigs. He would alienate them, maybe Nets but Lopez isn't a back to the board player, great offsense but that's it.

They've got Reggie Evans, Gerald Wallace, & Kris Humphries as well. They've got bigs who can get down & do the dirty work. Perfect for Hollins & obviously their perimeter play is far superior (to say the least) to Memphis.

Very true, they have plenty of grunts. A great scenario would be if Lopez fluorished under a defensive coach, but as the NBA progresses that seems rarer. It isn't like there are many openings, I can only think of Philly and Detroit right now, both which major rebuilding, especially Detroit.

He should strongly consider the East being so much weaker than the West though and pick Brooklyn over L.A. if he is to pick between those two.

Adrian Wojnarowski ‏@WojYahooNBA 4h

Asked two sources with direct knowledge of Grizzlies-Hollins talks if they believe he's coached his final game there. Both answered: "Yes."

Whoever is the owner of this franchise is cheap as hell.

Who's your head coach?

if I had a choice and could make a decision before training camp Phil would be the better coach and would implement the style necessary for us in a more effective way and faster.

D'antoni will change his coaching style and try to have us play the Nash off ball etc style that was effective, but he's never coached that before in his life and wouldn't be able to implement it as quickly or as effectively as Phil would so since we're going for Nash playing off ball, Kobe facilitating, playing the post with Dwight, the style that fits that best would be something Princeton or triangle related, and Phil would implement that quicker and more effectively than D'antoni would. It's not his style.   It's closer to Phil's by miles.  So get the guy that can implement that style fastest and the most effectively and has shown he can.

If not Phil than a coach that runs a similar style, would be hard to find as Shaw is gonna get a hard offer from the Nets and Adelman is likely retiring.  It's pretty evident what style we should be running to be effective, so get the coach that can run that kind of style the most effectively.  Start at the top(Phil and the Triangle) and work your way down if you can't get him.  Style has to be the same or similar though.

College football coaches test the waters of the NFL on occasion and some have found success. I don't see that very often with NCAA BB/NBA...wonder why. I'm tired of league rejects...we need to scout up-and-coming coaches

Don't see who else the Grizz could get to better fit their personel. Unless Doc wants to coach in Memphis, I can't think of a coach on the market who could utilize Marc and Company the way he did.

LeBron James will NOT leave the Miami Heat.
