I just saw an article in ESPN NBA that Alvin Gentry was eyeing LACs head coach opening. In that article it was mentioned that he currently has a standing offer to be our assistant coach.

Here is the article:

He's a D'antoni guy.  Of course.  He'd do better than Dan that's for sure.

Wrong. He had the Suns playing much better defense in the 2010 WCF than when the Suns made it that far with D'Antoni as their head coach.

Well it's a much better idea to bring in Gentry rather than Eddie Jordan or another assistant who has no familiarity with D'Antoni or any of our players. It looks like D'Antoni is staying and as much as that sucks we have to accept it and realize that we'll have a much better chance to win if he picks his own staff rather than keep all the guys Mike Brown brought in. Plus Steve Clifford just got the Charlotte head coaching job

Depends on if that guy gets a head coaching job.

He's not that good of a defensive coach, look at the 2010 Suns if you want proof of that, but I guess he's better than no defense at all.

When you have young athletic players that run up and down the court like gazelles...
Stoudemire
Marion
Nash
Barbosa
Tim Thomas
Raja Bell
Eddie house

Team was laced with shooters and defenders
The lakers aren't no spring chickens anymore. He can bring over whomever he likes... The personnel will be just about the same. Kobe, Nash DH( maybe) Pau (maybe) and Metta.... These cats aren't running...

Very true, but he definitely preaches it more than D'Antoni, and have you ever heard Gentry rave about Kobe? You would think Kobe is Gentry's prized son or whatever he absolutely loves Kobe and I think Kobe would love having Gentry on the staff

The idea of D'Antoni has started to annoy me. Just hearing his name itches me.

At this rate we will have traded the entire Lakers roster for the suns.  The l.a. suns always had a nice ring to it... will the front office stop this love affair with phx or will the [expletive] keep on piling up?
