It shouldn't be that big of a deal what he said, especially since I can't see how the way he went about it was that disrespectful or anything, but unfortunately, I still think knowing just how overly ultra-sensitive this subject is and how the overly-PC the media is on it, it will probably rub some people the wrong way.

It's a shame too, but when it comes to this subject, especially for public figures and specifically athletes (even more mega ones like AP), it's probably best to just ignore the subject all together if you have any opinion against it and just keep it to yourself cause it can only probably hurt you more than help you.

“To each his own,” Peterson said. “I’m not with it. But I have relatives that are gay. I’m not biased towards them. I still treat them the same. I love ‘em. But again, I’m not with that. That’s not something I believe in. But to each his own.”

Don't see anything wrong with what he said. Pretty much he doesn't believe its "right" but it doesn't change how he treats them.

I think the title is misleading. I was expecting something Sportscenter worthy. This was more "average".

I too see nothing wrong with his comments.

All he's trying to state is that although he opposes the idea of gay marriage, he doesn't have anything against those whom practice it.

Like I said as well, I don't either, but unfortunately I know I'm not the only one whose seen several examples of already similar sentiments shared in the same way if not less and made a bigger deal out of than they should be by this overly-protective & sensitive overly-PC media. It's almost as if in some cases if you're not for it, you're looked at as a bad guy/enemy.

Again, I agree with all of you, but I would just like to know if y'all get my point here? We've seen what one would think "no big deal" on this before and yet the media blow it out another way, especially regarding this ultra-sensitive overly-protected PC media driven subject.

I think the title is misleading.

I suppose I could change it to Adrian Peterson Speaks For Gay Marriage, but I have a feeling that wouldn't be too accurate.

As far as proper titles go, it could have just been this instead: "Adrian Peterson on Gay Marriage."

That's how I wish more people were if they didn't agree with it.

Good answer. Respectful. I support gay marriage, but I don't like what I've seen and heard from the media when someone who is against gay marriage states his/her opinion. It's like those who oppose it are being chastised.

got no issues with the gay community, in fact i am pro-gay marriage.. but one thing that fuels and incites homophobia is media making it a big deal if x is gay.

Thank you. Finally someone who at least acknowledged the point I was trying to make.
