He isn't coming here. He will never be better than LeBron.

"But but...its not supposed to be about the money...Lakers want guys who only care about winning"

A young player will NEVER turn down a max extension offer from the team that drafts them.  Why would they?  Say PG wanted to play in LA and knows hes grossly underpaid at $4m.  So when he is a RFA he would have to sign the 1 year QO from Indiana so he can be a UFA in 2015.  What happens if he gets injured during the 2014-2015 season and never is the same?  He just lost out on a chance at making BIG money for the first time in his promising, albeit shortened, career.   It makes no economic sense to not sign a max extension with the team that drafts you.

True. In the case of Paul George i think its close to impossible to get him to LA until the next time when his contract is up.

Exclusive: Paul George says he will sign a long-term contract with Pacers before the season

Indiana Pacers All-Star forward Paul George said today the team’s fans don’t need to worry about him going anywhere.

Indianapolis is his professional home and he plans to be here for a long time.

“(A long-term contract) is going to get done,” George told The Indianapolis Star. “There will be a deal signed and sealed on the table before the season. We’re (George and Pacers management) on the same page.”

George is entering the final year of his contract and the odds seemed long that he would leave Indiana even before Wednesday’s comments. The Pacers would have the right to match any offer he received next summer and have indicated they would do just that.

he had a very overrated regular season. he was a a 41% overall shooter 6 3pter per game chucker really similarly stat wise to Brandon Jennings.

finally his coach told him to shoot less 3s when the MIA series came around - i remember that sideline interview.

he did prove his potentiall to me vs MIA..

Kobe and Randle led Lakers lead the team to a 32-50 record. the Lakers select Myles Turner with the 5th pick.

Pacers got him locked in now. They wont give him talent though. They are still a cheap franchise.

He already has talent. That team went to the Conference Finals last year. They got even better in the offseason adding Copeland and Scola to their bench. What the hell are you talking about?

Huh? They were a win away from the NBA finals and are one of the better defensive teams in the NBA.

And they get Granger back and don't forget about Lance S. who played pretty well in the absence of Granger.. I think they will be alright.

Everyone said the same thing about OKC. Then OKC started getting cheap and there goes harden. Same thing will happen with the pacers. They got 2 years to win it all. After that they will lose players to save money.
