Basically what you're saying is we won't be getting one of these guys ala James Harden.

i just thought there would not be a great amount of money for them to give these guys, with David lee , Curry and Iggy taking up such a chunk of their salary. Bogut comes off the books and they want to trade Lee, but whose top say they can get good deals for them?

This isn't the Barnes/Klay topic.

Actually he did the right thing instead saying "I want to be a LAKER soon" his team gonna murdered him for that let's just wait until the next year and let's for the indiana getting sweep in the first round.

Not in 2014. I think he'll be in a Laker uniform eventually. Really like the guy though.

He's restricted. He's gonna accept the pacers offer. Why would he leave a team that is a legit team that he's the star of?

Nash is still valuable. He's probably the best shooter in the league, and that doesn't require young legs or athleticism to be of value for 25-28 mpg (perhaps off the bench).  He may not be able to stop the young PGs on defense, but to be honest, there are less than 10 guys in the league that can stop players like DRose, Westbrook and CP3. Nash is still above average on offense when healthy, and can be an important piece in a championship run.

He wouldnt make the cut on Zen masters team! Phil has already said the lakers need a new point guard meaning Steve Nash will never win anything with the style he plays. He never won anything when at his best, so taking the ball out his hands and making him a jump shooter is whats best but we need a point guard that can do everything. Somebody who can compete, not easily get shut down

Don't talk from back there.

Phil said they need a new point guard in terms of the offense they had been trying to run last year.  Not the triangle.

If Phil was talking about the triangle he would absolutely adore and want Nash.

So if Paul George wants to extend before the start of the season, per Mark Stein, I guess that is one option that this FO no longer can bank on.  Waiting in a reactive position for a year from now is not going to bare fruit.  Organizations that sit on their haunches for 365 days will see the landscape drastically change and be left to offer semi max deals to less than max players.  Amare to NY anyone?

Not sure if I understand.  Its in his best interest to lock up a 5 yr 80M(similar to Harden, Wall) ext today but in their best interest to sign him after the season to a 4yr 60M max (similar to Hibbert).

No one needs to answer it because it doesn't have a chance of happening.

He'll probably stay put, but one reason to leave would be to play in a major market in the City he grew up in instead of Indiana. Economically he should be able to make up the money in endorcements.

Not really but Paul George is starting to make a case for himself being a future star.  This isnt 1999.  If he becomes an elite player he will get shine wherever he is.  Unless Kobe is out of the picture no one is really going to get the shine as the guy in LA.  Lebron maybe but he's so established he has no reason to.

A young player will NEVER turn down a max extension offer from the team that drafts them.  Why would they?  Say PG wanted to play in LA and knows hes grossly underpaid at $4m.  So when he is a RFA he would have to sign the 1 year QO from Indiana so he can be a UFA in 2015.  What happens if he gets injured during the 2014-2015 season and never is the same?  He just lost out on a chance at making BIG money for the first time in his promising, albeit shortened, career.   It makes no economic sense to not sign a max extension with the team that drafts you.
