Don't see us landing any RFAs or Lebron next year

You guys expecting Paul George better lower expectations and expect Danny Granger

The "Poison Pill" deal is a myth...Indy is going to match any offer for george...same with Wall and any other RFA

You can't really poison pill a contract when it's a max player/contract.

The 2015 FA class is better for the Lakers anyway..just look at the names that are unrestricted and opt outs

but it seems like we're all in on the 2014 class...hopefully they just don't spend all that money on garbage

This is very smart! More pieces to go along with George for a TEAM. Two max contracts and a 16 a year player is what we will be able to afford. Not saying we should give max money but have money to spread out throughout the team. That is if Kobe is willing to take a pay cut otherwise we still have two max type moneyncb_u_cousins-wall01_576.jpg

Paul George Discusses Upcoming Free Agency and the Lakers

Everyone is already talking about next summer when the Los Angeles Lakers have ample cap room to possibly sign two superstars.

One free agent that will heavily be mentioned is current Pacer and Southern California native, Paul George. Although he is a restricted free agent and it’ll highly likely that the Pacers will match any offers, George remains a free agent target for the Lakers.

George is currently working out in Los Angeles and spent some time with Colin Howard on ESPN 710AM to discuss his upcoming free agency and the possibilities of joining the Lakers:

“Well, I’m still in Indiana. Just trying to bypass all the rumors and all the media trying to blow up stuff. My heart is still in Indiana. I’m still a Pacer and hopefully I’ll remain a Pacer.”

When asked if it would be difficult saying “no” to Kobe Bryant, George discussed how Los Angeles would be an ideal situation because of his family and growing up in California:

&ldq

uo;Of course it’d be tough. You’re talking about playing at home, playing in LA where your family — that’s what your family grew up on. It’d be big as far as it being the family favorite team. But again, it’s about me and my career. I think where I’m at will do the job for me.”

Despite acknowledging that joining the Lakers would be ideal, it appears that George is comfortable with the Pacers. He believes the team has enough to compete for championships and his first priority is to remain with the Pacers.

Although it sounds like George will remain with the Pacers, a lot can change from now to next summer. Regardless of what happens, the Lakers will still pursue him and hope he can be the future franchise player after Kobe Bryant decides to retire.

This past season, Paul George was named the Most Improved Player and averaged 19.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 5.1 rebounds.

Actually he is somewhat of a Pippen but Pippen is a Hall a Famer! George would win with players along with him like Wall and Cousins who are a year younger than he is

I'd love to see Paul George in a Lakers uniform but unfortunately I dont think it will happen.  Also I seriously hope that Lebron doesnt come to LA.  Cant stand the guy and I don't ever want to see him in purple and gold.  Never wanted Dwight and I don't want Lebron!

I actually respect the fact that Paul wants to remain a Pacer and I hope he stays there to make the east a bit more tough for Miami.

If you ran the Lakers they would never win a championship that's for sure

lol the second line up could be

Wall, Kobe, Melo, Pau, Cousins too...

13mill,10mill, max, mMLE or vet min, 13mill

i didn't add them up but it sounds pretty reasonable.

I'd rather have 23 year old George. I dont think there are enough balls on the court for Kobe and Melo. George wants to shut down players and would fit better in my opinion! Plus your right it all adds up with more left over if George comes. More for a bench
